Chapter 112 - Bonus chapter of 025 Phantom menace arc

Count Dooku stepped with measured grace into the Senatorial Rotunda, his presence marked by silent dignity. The polished floor echoed faintly beneath his boots as he approached the office of the one who had summoned him — Senator Palpatine.

Palpatine stood near the center of his grand chamber, hands folded behind his back, the cityscape of Coruscant gleaming beyond the wide transparisteel windows. A smile touched his lips as he turned.

"My friend," he said warmly, "that girl — Rey — the one I warned you about... she was one of the darknesses. I'm certain her death has made the galaxy a better place."

Dooku gave a courteous nod, his expression carefully neutral. "Of course, Senator. I acted as necessary."

Palpatine's eye twitched — barely noticeable — but the irritation behind his perfectly composed smile was undeniable. Not wise to indulge that thread, he thought. Especially not now. Dooku isn't ready to know the truth… not yet.

Palpatine gave a laugh, brushing aside the comment with practiced ease. "False rumors, Count. I assure you. Political slander — nothing more. The price of serving the Republic."

"I see." Dooku offered no challenge, only a polite smile. The lie was mutual.

Palpatine stepped closer, his voice low and expectant. "Now then… did you encounter Jin-Woo during your mission? Perhaps he was nearby, lurking during the assassination attempt?"

Dooku shook his head slowly, eyes calm. "No. He was not present that night. I saw no sign of him."

Palpatine's smile grew slightly. "Unfortunate, but no matter. Don't trouble yourself with her death, my friend. Sacrifices must be made. Hers will serve the greater good… the betterment of the galaxy."

Dooku gave the faintest nod again, but behind his eyes, respect for Jin-Woo lingered — the Armored Man who had once stood before him without fear
