The king stood before the windows, his strong arms folded across his chest as his legs stood apart as he watched the great grey clouds form over the Crystal Pavilion before disappearing in minutes like nothing ever happened. It was the frightening sound of thunder that awoke him, thinking his father was stupid enough to try to come near his bride. But he surprised him when he ran through—with his vampire speed—all over his pavilion and saw no trace of his father. He returned to find her still peacefully sleeping on his bed after dismissing the guard he trusted to watch over her a bit. His mind had been captivated by this phenomenon and, for some reason, something felt very wrong and he couldn't place a finger on it.
