Chapter 9 - The Truth Revealed

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Drip your blood onto the page to see the truth.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

 He gasped, his eyes widening.

"Truth? What does that mean?"

This... this wasn't something he'd ever written into the novel.

"Another strange thing, huh?"

His curiosity was piqued.

He wanted to do what the grimoire instructed, but he hesitated.

What if it was a trap?

What if his veins burst the moment his blood touched the page?

It was possible.

Something similar had happened in the novel, specifically in Chapter 54.

But the effects of the altered storyline made him less certain it would happen now.

"Screw it!"

To satisfy his curiosity, he conjured a shadow blade and sliced his finger.

"Let's see what this so-called 'truth' really is."

With blood dripping from his finger, he let it fall onto the grimoire's page.

The previous writing vanished, replaced by new text.

1/3

Truth revealed.

Subject: Hastora Vallois

1.Truth of Nonconformity

Nonconformity is a rare existence unbound by the fundamental laws of all realities, dimensions, or cosmic rules. They are "errors" within the fabric of universal order—unpredictable, uncontrollable, and beyond the reach of higher entities.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

"What?!"

This… was too unbelievable.

But it was the reality.

"No wonder I survived the Nihility Collapse."

"So… am I an anomaly?"

"Am I the reason behind all the anomalies in this story?"

He wasn't sure.

Was he a Nonconformity because he was a transmigrator?

He wasn't sure, but for now, he'd assume so.

"Tch. This is getting troublesome. From now on, I have to be careful with every action."

One misstep could distort the entire scenario—and that would spell trouble for him.

However, being a Nonconformity could make him stronger more easily.

Nonconformities don't obey cosmic rules; the grimoire stated that.

It meant he could do things ordinary humans couldn't, like entering the Nihility Collapse.

This was advantageous, but also dangerous.

He took a deep breath.

"I need to get stronger before things get too troublesome."

"If my identity is discovered, I'll be executed."

"This is bad. I'll also be targeted by demons if my identity is revealed."

"But… I'm also curious about the other truths."

There were numbers 1 and 3 on the page.

That must be the limit of his inquiries.

He'd revealed one truth; he could reveal two more.

But he couldn't reveal truths at will.

The truths would be revealed randomly.

"I hope I'm lucky."

He opened the next page.

"I just need to drip my blood again, right?"

He paused, then without hesitation, bit his wound until blood flowed again.

"Now, let's see the second truth."

New writing appeared as he dripped his blood onto the grimoire.

Truth revealed.

2. Truth of the Zombie Apocalypse Origin

An alien energy, breaching into the world from another dimension due to a battle between two entities. It damages the nerves, mind, consciousness, and identity of those lacking mana. It results in death for those with weak mana.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now it was clear.

The sudden transformation of Francis and the others in his past life had always felt too abrupt—too unnatural.

It had confused him when he first saw Francis turn into a zombie.

But now, everything was answered.

However, one thing still intrigued him.

Who were the two entities?

They must have been incredibly powerful beings; if they were weak, the effects of their battle wouldn't have been so devastating.

He tried to recall the powerful characters he'd written.

There were three.

First, Lucien von Breavheart.

Dubbed the King of Heroes, Lucien's age remained a mystery—even to Hastora, the one who had written him.

Lucien's age was never mentioned in the novel; Hastora never even intended to reveal it. He did it intentionally to keep it a secret.

Besides, it didn't matter; as long as he didn't impede Hastora's path to power, it wasn't a problem.

But if Lucien blocked his path, that would be a major issue.

"I'd better never get involved with that guy."

Second, Valeska von Asterea; she was another powerful character he could remember.

Though beautiful, the girl was undeniably strong, though far weaker than Lucien.

But she wasn't a threat. Hastora would surpass her in every aspect in a few months.

"And lastly..."

...Luna von Elarion.

The headmistress of the grand Velmora Academy, a beautiful but dangerous woman.

The Elarions were one of the most prominent families among the upper-class nobility.

They were responsible for Eldoria's military and security.

The Elarions were also known for their strong and talented members.

None of the Elarions were weak or untalented.

They were all perfect.

She was the woman Hastora had to watch out for right now.

After all, he was set to enroll in the grand Velmora Academy—an inevitable meeting with Luna.

"I have to avoid her as much as possible."

Of the three powerful characters he remembered, none of them had the potential for such a devastating battle.

No, maybe one.

Lucien.

If he were involved in a devastating battle, the possibility of him being the cause of the zombie apocalypse was very high.

However, neither of the other two characters could match Lucien's strength.

The difference in their power was vast.

Both could be defeated by Lucien in a single blow if he wanted to.

"So… the two entities weren't any of the three characters I just remembered."

"Maybe there are many more powerful characters in the novel; I don't remember them all."

He had stopped updating the latest chapters a long time ago.

He didn't remember many characters anymore.

"If only I had diligently updated the latest chapters, maybe I wouldn't be struggling like this."

If only he had kept writing, maybe unraveling this plot twist wouldn't be so agonizing.

He regretted it a little, but he didn't care too much.

Besides, he wasn't very noticeable; he wouldn't attract the attention of other powerful characters.

"Now, only the third truth remains."

He opened the next page.

This was the last time.

Hopefully, the final truth would matter—

And not be another piece of cosmic torment.

To be continued in the next chapter…
