{Chapter: 85 - Going Back To Push Plane}
With a sigh, he turned on the television and scanned through the news channels. The recent report on the Green Lantern had already made headlines. Aiden didn't bother reacting to it. His eyes shifted to broader matters.
He was more interested in the development of other heroes. Superman hadn't made headlines yet, which told him Kal-El either hadn't arrived publicly or hadn't revealed himself. There was no mention of the Speed Force explosion in Central City, which meant Barry Allen hadn't become The Flash. Oliver Queen was still missing and presumed dead—either still marooned on Purgatory Island or not yet reborn as the Green Arrow.
After going through the available data and connecting the timeline markers, Aiden confirmed his suspicions—he had landed at a perfect starting point. A ripe timeline, where legends were yet to rise.
Aiden leaned back in his chair and ran his fingers through his hair. "Should I keep this plane and let it run? Or should I open a new one?" he mused aloud. He considered the ramifications. These timelines were all interconnected in this DC-themed plane, so technically, he only needed one to watch them all grow.
But there was more at play—he remembered how the system worked. Only by opening a new plane would he receive new quests. New quests meant more growth, and more growth meant more power.
"System," he said aloud, "Can I leave this plane early and enter the Push plane?"
[Yes!]
Aiden stood up, feeling the familiar pull of the dimensional transition beginning to swirl around him. There was nothing more here for now. His mission had been meaningful, and his heart, for the time he had someone waiting for him
He smiled as he packed his things, one last thought lingering in his mind—Carol.
She was more than just a beautiful moment. She was someone he wanted in his future Queen.
"Until I see you again," he whispered into the empty room, before vanishing into the next adventure.
---
After stepping into the Push Plane, the familiar hum of the base's internal systems greeted Aiden like an old friend. The lights flickered on automatically as he passed by, and the faint mechanical buzz of distant generators echoed through the walls. He emerged from the same place he left and adjusted his coat, eyes scanning the corridor. This place—his—always brought him a sense of calm control.
The moment he entered the command center, a familiar voice rang out.
"Master, you are back!" Kira's eyes lit up the instant she saw him. Her voice held the warmth of someone who had been waiting far longer than she'd ever admit. She moved toward him quickly, the slight sway in her step betraying her eagerness.
Aiden gave a small nod, smiling softly. "Well, I came back to see the progress of the gene potion."
Kira straightened and began her report, her tone professional but laced with pride, as though she wanted to impress him. "The gene potion is still under development. We're running simulations on compatibility, but there's no notable breakthrough for the time being. That said, eight new supersoldiers have been trained successfully. The current account holds approximately 800 million dollars in liquid assets. As for the woman you were searching for—Pop Girl—we've located her. I've dispatched a covert retrieval team."
Aiden folded his arms. "Good. As for the three lowest-performing supersoldiers, I want to devour their abilities. This organization needs strength and loyalty, not dead weight. If they can't meet expectations, then let them live quiet, ordinary lives elsewhere. Also, convert the funds into gold bars."
"Yes, Master!" Kira bowed slightly and turned to carry out his orders.
Before she could fully leave, Aiden's gaze lingered on her. There was something in her body language, something... hesitant. But he said nothing and let her go.
He made his way to his private quarters, where the comforting aroma of freshly prepared food awaited him. A small but gourmet meal sat arranged neatly on his table—courtesy of Kira, no doubt. He ate in silence, savoring the flavors while his mind wandered.
This base, this life—he had become something akin to a living deity here. His very presence shaped futures. His decisions had weight, and his actions molded the entire world. Sometimes, it was exhausting. But it was also thrilling.
As the day wore into night, fatigue began to creep in. He took a long shower, the hot water soothing the tension in his shoulders. After toweling off, he stepped into the bedroom, expecting solitude.
But he wasn't alone.
Kira was there—still.
She stood by
---
Aiden stepped out of the steamy shower, rubbing a towel through his damp hair when he noticed something strange—Kira was still in the room. Her slender frame stood motionless near the doorway, her back straight but clearly tense. Her eyes, which usually sparkled with efficient professionalism, now avoided his gaze, and a faint flush painted her pale cheeks.
He raised a brow, genuinely puzzled. "Kira? Is something wrong?"
Kira lowered her head, strands of her silver-blonde hair falling forward like a curtain to hide her face. Her voice was a whisper, barely audible over the hum of the lights. "I... I'm staying to serve you tonight, Master."
The silence that followed was heavy, almost intimate.
Aiden smirked, stepping closer with a teasing glint in his eyes. "Oh? Are you here to help me bathe, or to warm my bed?"
His tone was light and flirtatious, but even he could feel the shift in the air. Kira flinched slightly at the question, not out of fear but hesitation. This wasn't just another task she was willing to do—this was something more. Her loyalty to him was absolute, but that didn't mean she was emotionless.
Even after her transformation into a devoted follower, she was still a woman. Still someone with feelings, longings, and fragile hopes buried beneath her obedient demeanor.
"I... I just thought you might... need someone," she whispered, her voice trembling. "It's not a command. I just... wanted to be near you. That's all."
Aiden looked at her, really looked at her this time. Despite the loyalty he'd crafted into her being, Kira wasn't a hollow puppet. Her eyes held vulnerability, conflict, and a deep, quiet affection that tugged at something inside him.
Aiden wasn't heartless. He considered himself a romantic in his own way, even if he didn't always act on it. He'd just shared a night of passion and intimacy with Carol, a core memory etched into his mind. To take Kira now, when her offer was wrapped in uncertainty and vulnerability—it felt wrong. He wasn't some beast driven only by desire, besides the only time when this happened.
"I'm not that kind of man, Kira," Aiden said softly, stepping forward. He brushed his hand gently along her cheek, wiping away a tear she hadn't even realized had fallen. "I don't take what's given to me just because I can."
His voice was firm, but not cold. "Leave for now. I'll call you when I need you. And since you offered yourself willingly…" He smirked again, though this time the edge was softer. "I'll eat you sooner or later. Don't think you can escape."
Kira's eyes widened, her face turning scarlet. She bit her lip, nodded hastily, and nearly fled the room in flustered embarrassment, her heart pounding in her chest like a drum.
Alone again, Aiden sighed and let his towel fall to the side as he settled into bed. The warmth of the room wrapped around him, but it was nothing compared to the heat of longing in the air just moments before. Still, he closed his eyes and fell asleep quickly. It had been a long day, and tomorrow would be another.
—
The morning light filtered into his quarters through the specially reinforced skylights. Aiden stretched lazily, feeling well-rested. He slipped into his clothes and made his way around the base, inspecting progress on various projects with a relaxed stride. Technicians bowed, agents saluted, and Kira—always alert—gave him a slight nod when their paths crossed, her cheeks still faintly pink.
She avoided his gaze a little too long, and he chuckled to himself.
By afternoon, the preparation was complete. A mountain of gleaming gold bars stacked neatly within reinforced crates awaited transport. Their value exceeded $800 million—more than enough to purchase a remote island, fortify it, and start something entirely new.
Aiden looked over the haul, satisfied. His fingers grazed one of the gold bars, feeling the weight of it. The future he envisioned wasn't just a dream anymore—it was taking shape, piece by piece.
Just before he departed, he turned to Kira, who stood silently nearby.
"I hope when I return… she'll still be here with you, waiting," he said, his voice low but sincere.
Kira's expression changed. A soft gasp left her lips, and her eyes shimmered with restrained emotion. She bowed her head, but this time not out of duty.
"I will be, Master. Always."
As Aiden disappeared from the room with the all the gold, Kira stood in place for several moments longer, her heart filled with something deeper than loyalty—hope.
---
The instant without any light of teleportation faded, Aiden materialized aboard his spaceship. The interior of the vessel shimmered with a smooth, otherworldly glow—sleek metal fused with ornate runes etched along the walls pulsed faintly with arcane energy. The ship hummed beneath his boots, like an ancient dragon resting beneath a steel hide.
He glanced around and noticed only two individuals waiting: Chan Ho, his ever-reliable right hand, and the ever-silent Dark Elf who stood like a shadow by the controls.
Aiden raised a brow. "Where are Blink and Marrow?"
Chan Ho stepped forward, hands folded behind his back in his usual professional stance. "They went to SHIELD headquarters a few hours ago," he replied. "Things have... developed."
Aiden folded his arms and leaned against a control console. "Explain."
Chan Ho nodded and relayed the events of the past few days. "Nick Fury didn't object to us taking the island. No payment required. However…" His voice slowed slightly, "He made a small request. He wants access to study the spaceship. Not for SHIELD, though—for Tony Stark."
Aiden's eyes narrowed as his smirk deepened. "Tony, huh? So that's how they want to play it."
