My heart raced. "Joonseo…"
His hand brushed my waist, pulling me closer. I gasped.
"Tell me," he said, voice shaking, "do you like him? Do you want to leave with him?"
"No!" I shouted, pushing him lightly on the chest. "Why would I want him when I—"
I stopped myself.
His eyes searched mine. "When you… what?"
I looked away.
"When you what, Minji?" he said again, softer this time.
I bit my lip, trying not to let the tears fall. "I can't say it."
"Why not?"
"Because you'll hate me… when you know everything."
The silence between us stretched. The wind outside knocked a small branch against the window. I turned to leave, but he grabbed my arm again.
"You're mine," he said, voice cold and possessive. "Don't forget that."
"Let go," I whispered.
He finally released me.
"I'm tired," I said. "I'm going to my room."
