" Fergus, get out of there!" Kane shouted from a distance just as the darkness began surrounding him. He attempted to call out Fergus' name once more but his voice disappeared.
The hell is going on?... He asked himself. It was something stange but he guessed it had something to do with the darkness.
I go out of my way to help this boy and I'm greeted by a product of the Lost Generation. Julia better thank me for trying even if I fail... Kane said to himself. Or rather, it was Displace who was speaking, not Kane.
The darkness had fully enveloped the place and all he could see was just mist. He readied the cards for dispersal in case something wrong happened. There was an unsettling silence, one that shook him to the bone.
I better hurry up or the spell won't last long...
He then felt someone behind him. Kane quickly jumped off the house and landed on the street below. He frantically looked around in all directions, trying to get a scope of where his enemy mingt be. As if things couldn't get any weirder, the ground began being flooded with water.
" You," Began a deep menacing vioce," There's something different about you." Kane continued looking around, this time searching for the source of the voice. Such was difficult as the voice itself seemed to echo from all directions.
Kane took a deep breath and calmed himself. He closed his eyes and quickly began feeling the world around him. Not by his senses, but by spiritual energy. Kane dulled all his senses as he took a steady stance.
Slowly but surely, everything got dulled until all he could feel was emptiness and all he could see was darkness. Then, he saw a misty yellow hand go on to attempt to grab his neck. Kane threw one of the cards obove himself.
Switch.
Kane found himself above the figure as it emerged from the mist. Not wanting to waste the opportunity, he fired all the cards at once. The figure reacted fast enough to box every cingle one of them away, each time producing a sound of two metals clanking.
" Enhancing the cards with spiritual energy, quite clever young one. But that won't be enough to stop me."
The figure dashed over to Kane at high speeds, attempting to deliver a straight punch. Kane dodged to the right a threw a right hook to the figure. The figure grabbed his fist and then pulled Kane in for a header.
Switch.
The figure found himself holding a card as Kane came in with a drop kick to it's shoulder. But that did not seem to have any effect. What followed was a series of fast paced punches and kicks that grew more and more destructive by the minute. The ground began to shatter as the speed and force of the attacks got more and more powerful. Eventually, the figure began dishing out punches the made Kane begin to worry, or rather it was Displace worrying.
The figure managed to connect a vicious puch at the right side of Kane's abdomed, instantly breaking four ribs. But it was not done yet. It then began serving out consecutive puches at Kane, not giving him time to breathe.
All the cards that were lying on the wet ground began to rise as the figure went in for a fatal blow to the head.
Switch.
The force of the attack parted the waters and tore up the ground, a sonic boom having been heard. The figure looked bihind him and beheld the sight of Kane. He was in shambles. Broken ribs, a dislocated arm, scratches and bruises everywhere not to mention the extensive damage he had on his legs. Just by observing him one could tell that him and death were schedualed for a date, soon and very soon.
Kane ( Displace btw) could tell that things were not going as he had originally planned. His vision had began fading, a result of the earlier on head collision and extreme fatigue. He had no other choice but to finish it as fast as he could. The now floating cards then began to glow even brighter.
" You continue to resist the inevitable despite your pitiful and pathetic state. How distaste full."
Kane felt like telling it to shut up but his voice have been impared made him unable to do so. Kane took a long deep breathe and got ready to attack.
Switch.
Kane found himself within the grasp of the dark figure, his throat captive to the firm hand of his adversary.
How did he predict where I was going to switch to?... Kane inwardly asked himself. He wiggled around as the grip on his throat tightened. He struggled to gasp for air.
Kane's eyes met the figure's. The azure blue in them brought upon fascination and beauty yet fear. The darkness around them slowly began to disappear and Kane had the misfortune of viewing a disturbing sight.
Over at a distance, blood had covered the whole place. It had been mixed with the water but remained as the water also disappeared. Pieces of flesh had been scattered everywhere. Organs had been minced and torn apart the spread out like seeds. Everything was so distorted and mutilated that nothing could clearly identified. Nothing of course but a head.
It's emerald green eyes lacked the life they once had. They were dim, empty. It wore the expression of pain and terror, tears having streamed down it's face. It's mouth was open, letting out a small stream of blood. Fergus was dead, and there was nothing Kane could do.
Dammit. The kid went on to get himself killed early... Displace thought..But then, was such brutallity neccessary?
He looked at the figure.
" It truly pains me to have such young ones die, especially for the sins of their forefathers. But my thirst for vengence burns hotter than any other emotion."
The figure put it's other hand on Kane's mouth. Kane tried to escape, going as far as trying to break of it's arms with the little strength he had left but all seemed futile. Droplets of water formed around the arm of the figure. The droplets then became a stream that encircled the hand.
" Peace Be Still."
A large colume of water rushed into Kane's mouth and quickly filled his body. In an instant, Kane swelled up like an inflated baloon and soon his body burst, sending he organs flying in all directions. The only part that remained intact was his head that the figure dropped on the ground and crushed it under it's foot.
And that's all folks. This is the end. Thanks for reading this far and have a good day or night. Depending on the time zone.
