After spending too much time in the library, I went to the Training Ground to let loose of my muscles before going to bed. It was past nighttime, and I don't expect young students to be awake past bedtime. However, to my surprise, I heard feint footsteps inside the Training Ground.
I was anticipating a group of students training, but I only saw one female student at the Square, slashing the air with a wooden sword. I silently watched her movements, and each of her motions were smooth and has grace on them. But the strength behind her attacks were powerful to push the air around her.
Under the starry night, a young woman danced with her blade while her silver hair swayed along with her shifts. As she moved elegantly, her sweat was also dropping to the ground, leaving a wet marks on the floor.
Suddenly, something inside me awakened. A long, lost emotions sprawled out from within me and because it has been a long time since I felt this way, I have forgotten what they used to call these feelings.
The woman stopped to take a break. Or so I thought when her jade eyes that seemed to be radiating in light glanced my way. My eyes widened from her stern expression. Even when she is tired, she looked... twinkling with elegance.
Alas, the day I fell in love was also the day I got rejected indirectly.
Her eyes glared at me, and she swiftly turned around and left the Square, leaving my jaws hanging until they dropped on the ground. I felt my heart shatter, but I quickly shook these feelings away and forced discipline to myself like I always do when I was still a General from my previous life.
Have I gotten too comfortable that I am falling in love now? Also, she is twelve, whilst I am older than I look.
I sighed. After a tiring day, I went back to my dorm to get some rest.
