Calmness prevailed in the room, where everyone was fast asleep. However, Aiden suddenly woke up in the middle of the night. He turned to the side of the bed and saw Aurora sleeping soundly.
"Ugh, my head feels really dizzy," said Aiden.
To relieve the dizziness in his head, Aiden needed good air circulation in the room. He opened the bedroom window and let the cool night air refresh the stuffy room.
As he was about to return to his room, he was startled to hear faint voices coming from outside the inn. It was the sound of two men talking after visiting a tavern.
"I really hate those refugees. They're never-ending!"
"Be careful what you say. Haven't you heard the rumors from the capital?" asked the man's friend.
"What?"
"I heard that the refugees who were sent to the big city were never seen again," replied the man, shocking his friend.
"Don't joke around. What could those refugees possibly do to disappear like that?" his friend asked, doubting the man's story.
