But Xavier was not there to play power games or even kill her. He simply wanted to instill fear in her…wanted her to dread his return. He never expected for things to turn out this way. He was supposed to push her into the pool, watch her drown, and then bring her out when she was close to death. Who would have thought she would have the guts to drag him in?
"Fine. Fine." Xavier growled angrily as Elena's arms tightened around his neck. She really has some nerves. "Now stop moving like a fool, or else I'll break your tiny hands." He commanded and Elena managed to stop thrashing wildly.
Gently, Xavier wrapped his hand around Elena's waist and then positioned her hand well across his neck as he led her out of the pool. He tossed her to safety like she was filth and he rose from the floor and stood over her. He looked down at her as she was trying to catch her breath, her chest rising and falling. His brow narrowed as he stared at her in awe. Was she really glaring at him?
