[Clara]
My heart skipped a beat once I saw Nicole across the hallway which wasn't a part of the plan. I was supposed to be nonchalant, and ready to face her but then failing hadn't been a part of the plan as well, and so I didn't know what to do now that I have failed.
I thought of going back inside but she turned towards my direction at the sound of the door. Her initial expression, which was that of worry, slipped away the moment her eyes rested on me, and was immediately replaced with shock. It was there in her face, the conviction that we did it, Leonard and I, and there and then I decided to play along with it.
I replaced my worried expression with indifference, and faced her. On a second thought, I added a smile that spoke of victory, while I hoped that this didn't go sour.
"What in heaven's name are you doing here?" She asked, breathlessly. She already had an answer, I could tell but she didn't want it to be true.
"You tell me, what does it look like?" I shot back.
