The morning light glowed softly through the curtains. Kai was still asleep, resting peacefully in Bast's arms. Slowly, his eyes fluttered open. Bast was still sleeping beside him, his expression calm and gentle.
Kai gazed at him quietly, then traced his fingers lightly along Bast's cheek and whispered,
Kai: "I missed the mornings when I woke up and saw your face first."
Bast's eyes slowly opened. He looked at Kai and smiled.
Bast: "Good morning, my baby."
Kai: "Morning."
Bast wrapped an arm around Kai's waist and asked softly,
Bast: "Feeling better?"
Kai gave a small nod.
Bast: "Does it hurt?"
Kai: "A little."
Bast: "That's because we did it after two years. It's normal to feel sore. I'll put some cream—"
Kai blushed shyly, quickly grabbing his shirt and putting it on.
Kai: "No need. I'm okay."
Bast suddenly grabbed his wrist and pulled him closer with a smirk.
Bast: "Then give me a morning kiss."
Kai smiled, cupped Bast's face in his hands, and kissed him softly.
