Xavier, Mickey, the Warden and a group of ten guards, including Leo and Nova walked through the forest. Before the other went inside, Xavier made sure to give them everything, including the monster stones and the copper water canisters. He couldn't risk slipping up and drinking water when it got hot, and trust me it was going to get hot, since that would lead to questions, which would eventually lead to them finding the river. Which would result in a severe beating for lying, or worse, death.
As they walked, Xavier carefully observed the guards out of the corner of his eyes. The first one he noticed was Leo, who had removed the bandage from his eye, which now had a white scar over it, which made him look fearsome. He seemed a bit too confident to Xavier, considering he was one of the few guards who actually survived coming over to this side of the forest. Next, he looked over at Nova, who seemed to be cautiously clutching his gun, while observing everything and everyone. Their eyes met, and their gazes lingered on each other for a few moments before Xavier broke eye contact. He then looked at the other guards and noted that two of the other eight seemed to share Leo's and the Warden's confidence, and Xavier was soon to find out why.
'I'll find out soon enough.' He thought, as he walked beside Mickey at the front of the group. They arrived at the dungeon in an hour, and stepping inside, the guards and the Warden's eyes widened when they got the notification.
"It seems you were telling the truth about the dungeon, let's see if you were truthful about the monsters as well." The Warden said, and a guard pushed both Xavier and Mickey forward. Mickey gritted his teeth and glared at the guard, but Xavier held his hand and shook his hand, making the guard smirk. They soon came up on the pile of imp corpses, and the guards looked at it shock. It was obvious that this was not done by human hands as they were half eaten, rotting, and no human of current could have done this.
"Everyone, prepare for battle." The Warden said and everyone gripped their guns, preparing to fire at any moment. Xavier and Mickey also drew their weapons, but they couldn't help but be nervous with eleven guns behind them, wielded by people who were unconcerned for their safety. They continued walking, and they past the spot where Xavier and Mickey killed the Diabolic Imp, but...no corpse was to be found. Both Xavier and Mickey looked at each other before continuing on their way, heading deeper and deeper into the dungeon, a city filled with obsidian buildings and structures.
"Halt, everyone, take cover." The Warden said unexpectedly, but everyone quickly followed his instructions. Soon, a Diabolic Imp appeared in the sky, soaring high and searching for anyone on the ground.
"Should we engage sir?" One of the guards asked, and Xavier looked over at him
"No you can't, the noise from the gun will attract more of them." Xavier warned and the guard looked over at him with disgust in his eyes.
"I don't take orders from you scum." The guard said, and looked at the Warden.
"We engage, no matter how many of them come, we can handle it." The Warden said, and as soon as he did, Xavier gestured to Mickey to put some space between them and the guards, while keeping their cover. The guard quickly pointed his gun at the monster, and the creature quickly noticed the light being reflected off the muzzle.
"GRAAAAHHHH!!!" It screamed before the guard started to unleash a hail of bullet on the monster. The small projectiles struck it's body and it quickly tried to escape the hail of gunshots while the other guards started firing as well.
"Are this the monster you were afraid of?" One of the guards laughed, while the monster bled from the multiple gunshot wounds, which pissed Mickey off. Suddenly, over a dozen fireballs started falling from the sky from behind them, exploding where the guards were.
"Aggghhhh." The guards screamed as they were burned, but luckily, most of explosion was absorbed by the building they were hiding behind, which promptly exploded from the force.
'These things are clever.' Xavier thought, as he realized that the Diabolic Imp did. It had led the guards to follow it with their guns, completely turning their back to the direction it came from. Which allowed six more Diabolic Imp to sneak up on them.
"Let's see who gets the last laugh, assholes." Mickey whispered with a smile, as the guards panickedly got to their feet while trying to put out the magic fueled flames.
