He looked at the slightly chubby girl, the corner of his eye carrying a hint of a smile as he glanced at the somewhat sharp-tongued freshman, saying blandly, "I have a very cold temperament, won't be liked by girls, and I'm not planning to waste my time on early love."
These words could be considered a relatively cultured and gentle refusal of the girl's confession.
