Chapter 4: The name of the first victim…
Magician Miss Seven confidently smiled and said, "You are such a talented little magician, Young lady! Thank you for helping me! Now you may take your seat and enjoy the rest of the show." She gestured to Ananya. With a big smile, Ananya nodded and hopped down from the stage.
Miss Seven watched Ananya return to her chair. She smiled at Ananya. Her smile was a warm welcome smile… but it remained only for a moment. Then, she took out a pencil cracker from one pocket of her blazer and from the other one she took out a lighter.
The pencil cracker was made up of paper and its cover had a diamond shaped pattern on it.
She lit the lighter. It made a soft clinic.
Clinic...
She said, "A Magician is known as the master of illusions…" She took a pause in between. She then lit the cracker in her hand. "The more you watch…"
As she continued to talk to audience, the cracker caught fire and start burning. It created the shower of bright and colourful sparks. The sparks shooted from the tip of the cracker they were in golden yellow, orange and reddish colour.
She then quickly flicked it and a pure white Dove emerged from the cracker. She continued saying, "the more you get tricked! That's the truth!"
The crowd gasped in surprise to see a Dove.
Gasps…
She put the lighter in her pocket and then she took out another Dove from the first one.
Everyone clapped and enjoyed it.
Clap… clap…
Then Magician Miss Seven flicked the Doves and they turned into white roses. She tossed them into the sky and into colourful confetti.
Everyone cheered up for her. She bowed to audiance.
Mr. Malhotra was also enjoying the show and were clapping for her but suddenly his phone rang. He answered the call and head inside the hotel. Miss Seven glanced up at him watching him leave.
Her eyes twinkled with madness she smirked. She stood tall. "That's all for today! See you all soon!" She said boldly. She took off her top hat and made a final bow. She tossed it in the air and red confetti shattered in the air. And Miss Seven? She was gone! She disappeared in the red confetti.
The crowd gasped. Karan and Roy were totally shocked. Actually there jaw just dropped.
"Where the hell did she go? The magic show was actually supposed to end till 9:00 p.m. but she ended it before 8:30 p.m.? Great! Now how am I supposed to handle everyone else? I really want to cry. Okay I need to be positive!" Karan thought to himself.
He then got on the stage. His eyes fell on something unusual. He found a card laying on the centre of the stage where Magician Miss Seven disappeared moments ago.
"A card? Isn't that card is placed exactly where Miss Seven was standing? I know I shouldn't do this but…" Karan thought to himself.
He stepped forward and bend down to pick up the card.
It was a playing card of number Seven which was identical to the one Miss Seven wore as a brochure. Karan turned the card and found a note on the back of the card. His eyes widened in shock when he saw the note. The note was written in an elegant handwriting. It was:
"The game has begun! Try to save the one who you loved the most!
First victim:-
Mr. Rakesh Malhotra
–Cardmaster"
"The trick ended… One card revealed… The target is not safe… And the crime chase begins!"
