CHAPTER 10: The Son's Club.
The Son's Club was alive with pulsating music and the hum of conversation. In a usually vibrant VIP room, now eerily quiet, Willson Johnson, a notorious playboy and heir to the Son's cooperation, sat with his friend Richard. Willson's usual entourage of admiring girls and chaebol kids was nowhere to be seen, replaced by an unsettling atmosphere.
Willson's anger was evident as he spoke.
"She can't just call off the engagement like that. Does she know who I am?, i am Willson Johnson, the Willson Johnson. I am the guy that every girl is fighting over and desperate to have yet she feared to call off our engagement."he fumed, his ego wounded.
Richard listened, pouring Willson drinks and occasionally rolling his eyes.
"You're not going to say anything?" Willson asked, expecting support.
Richard's response was candid.
"What can I say? That you're clueless about handling rejection? Or that your complaining is getting on my nerves?" He smiled wryly, his expression speaking volumes.
Willson felt affronted.
"What do you mean I don't handle rejection well?"
Richard's silence was answer enough.
"You're really something," Willson muttered, his voice trailing off.
Richard shook his head.
"You know it's true. You've dished out rejection like candy, but now you're on the receiving end, and you're struggling."
Willson took a deep breath, composing himself before responding,
"I suppose you're right. I've never been rejected before."
His matter-of-fact tone underscored his privileged upbringing.
Richard raised an eyebrow, remaining silent as he waited for Willson to continue. Willson seemed oblivious to Richard's skepticism, stating,
"As you know, girls usually throw themselves at me. It's expected that I'll dump the ones I'm bored with and reject those I'm not interested in. The idea of me being rejected never crossed my mind."
Richard looked at Willson incredulously, as if wondering how they'd become friends.
"That's why you're getting a taste of your own medicine now. She's different from the girls who usually chase you. She knows your reputation, and that's why she called off the engagement."
Willson's expression turned defensive.
"Are you really my friend or just pretending to be one? A friend wouldn't say such things."
Richard's silence spoke volumes, his eyes seeming to say,
"What do you think?"
Frustrated, Willson downed the drink Richard had poured for him. Richard rolled his eyes, muttering,
"Drama queen."
Willson continued, his face filled with self-righteousness,
"Even though she didn't throw herself at me, her family did. So, she has no right to call off the engagement. I should be the one to end it, not her."
Richard's expression turned incredulous.
"I'm really curious, where did you get this self-righteous attitude from? I've never noticed it before."
Willson rolled his eyes, dismissing Richard's comment.
Richard smiled, "I have to say, I like that lady. She gave you a taste of your own medicine. I'm proud of her for rejecting you. Which sane woman, knowing your reputation, would agree to marry you? Only someone crazy, materialistic, or overambitious would consider it."
Willson was speechless, unable to respond to Richard's candid words. Richard continued,
"Only intelligent and reasonable girls would reject your proposal. No sane girl would want to marry a notorious playboy like you, known for breaking hearts and constantly switching partners."
Richard's expression turned serious.
"We've known each other for a long time, and I know you're thinking my words are harsh, but the truth is often bitter. Unlike others who fawn over your family's wealth, I'm willing to tell you the hard truth because our friendship deserves honesty."
Richard's tone remained serious. "I know you're not listening, but I'm saying this for your own good. You need to snap out of this entitled attitude. You're getting rejected because of your behavior, and it's not surprising."
After a moment of silence, Willson finally spoke up,
"Are you done?"
Richard nodded, pouring him another drink. Willson smiled,
"If I were a 'good boy' like you, I might listen, but I'm Willson Johnson, and I won't change."
Richard's tone turned sympathetic.
"It's a shame, really. If you'd settled down with one woman, maybe you wouldn't have been rejected. But you've always been clear about your intentions – you love the thrill of multiple relationships."
Willson grinned.
"I've told you before, I'm destined to be with many women, not just one. I'm the infamous playboy, and that's not changing."
Richard nodded silently, knowing it was pointless to argue.
Willson's smile turned sinister.
"My main focus right now is on my finances, and she's going to pay for what she did to me."
Richard's expression turned grim.
"What do you plan on doing? Remember, you're a public figure, so be careful."
Willson looked at Richard curiously.
"What's going on in your mind?" Richard countered,
"I should be asking you that. What are you planning against your ex-fiancée?"
Willson's devilish grin returned.
"Do you think I'll send someone to hurt her or... worse?"
Richard's response was cautious.
"I don't know what goes on in that head of yours."
Willson looked offended.
"Do you think I'm that ruthless? I won't stoop that low, despite what she did."
Richard's tone turned serious.
"I've seen people do crazy things when they're hurt. You might do something extreme and regret it later, especially since this is your first time being rejected."
Willson's anger boiled over, and he slapped Richard's head.
"What was that for?"
Richard shouted, rubbing his head.
"You deserved it for talking nonsense," Willson said, taking another drink in anger.
Richard's gaze was piercing, his eyes flashing with anger.
Hateful," he muttered under his breath.
So, what's the plan for Susan Collins?" he asked, his tone neutral.
Willson smiled sinisterly.
"I'm going to deal with her in a way that she'll remember me for the rest of her life... and beyond."
Richard's eyes narrowed slightly as he rubbed his jaw, his expression unreadable.
"Susan Collins," he repeated, his tone thoughtful.
"What a nice name for an interesting person. I'm really looking forward to meeting her one day."
The air was thick with tension as Willson's smile grew wider, his eyes gleaming with malice.
