Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 : Bounty

Getting up from the hay filled bed, Lucian stretched his naked muscular body, he looked at Myra who lay beside him, naked yet beautiful.

The moon was still out, nevertheless he had to get moving even though he had only slept for a few hours, the reason of sleeping was because of some erotic activities preformed by he and Myra.

If he hadn't done that he would probably be training his skills and techniques, yet he had other plans and had to skip the training.

He needed money so it was time to keep the deal.

But before that he opened his interface and clicked on the icon pain.

[ Technique : Pain ]

[ Status : Unlocked ]

[ Enchantments : Pain Nullification, Pain Amplification, Pain Inducement, Pain Transfer ]

' That was the most self-explanatory technique I've ever had ' he thought dressing up in his wardrobe, that was nothing short of the truth, other techniques would display an error message telling the Host to wait till his strong enough for the system.

He was about to close his interface when he saw.

[ 00.00.00.03.01.34.29 ]

This prompt appeared four years ago during the time he was battling his masters, it came as the demo system was unlocked.

In his introspective he theorized it to be a count down, probably till his system was fully unlocked, while that was merely a theory it didn't hurt to be hoped on.

Lucian dressed himself in a tight black T shirt, on his lower body was also a black body hug jean trousers, the purpose was to allow free body movements.

He walked out of the bedroom and to the parlor, with his uncanny ability to see clearly in the dark as if it was day allowed him to see a little boy of about thirteen years old sleeping on a portable bed.

All the chairs and sitting table were carefully set aside allowing for space to prevail in the room.

Looking around he tried to figure a way to his hidden lair, " Vincent!!! ", he called tapping on the boy, the child turned to the other side, Lucian called again and the boy steered away.

" Go sleep in the room, it's more comfortable " he said to the sleepy boy, the boy sleepily stood and walked into the bedroom while Lucian arranged the sitting room grabbing his trench coat and hat in the process.

He walked over to a cabinet that stood over the parlor's wall, moving it with relative ease he tapped on a lose row of planks on the wooden floor and careful pulled the long planks out of the floor reveling a deep dark space.

He tied a long string attached to the cabinet to his index finger, climbing into the space which covered him entirely, he reached out for the row of planks and covered the false floor.

Gently pulling on the string caused the cabinet to revert to it's original position, with that Lucian had entered his secret lair.

Walking up to a traditional long curved japanese sword resting on the wall besides it's scabbard, he sheathed the Tachi and pocketed two Zmith & Messon Model 1500 revolvers.

Hanging the long japanese sword ' Tachi ' on his back he set out through his escape route.

Few minutes later he was seen at a bar.

The bar which his story started.

As usual the air was thick of drunkenness and cigars, he walked in through the bat shaped door, scanning the area for his client.

To his disappointment he didn't see the hooded figure, * Sigh *, sitting on a chair near the door Lucian pulled out the card he took earlier and glanced through it.

Target : Arvino Alarz'ine Bercort

Reward : Fifty copper rilacs

Reward Location : Dire Lacont

The information on the card ended, ' I didn't really need the guy after all, but Arvino Alarz'ine Bercort, isn't that a high ranked templar scholar '.

' For it's price, it's really a hard one ', Lucian through standing up from the table and walking out before a waitress could drop a drink on it.

In the cold lonely streets of Vakshir, he made his way to the templar district which spanned from a smaller territory of the north to a larger part of the east.

The east made him shudder, he had terrifying history with that place, the most horrible being he grew up there.

But he was out for his grind and probably sure his father nor his men based in the village after he escaped, even if he was to encounter any of them, he was sure he would end their pitiful existence.

Shoving those thoughts aside he vault to the top of a building and effortlessly jumped to the next, he did it so easily anyone would be fooled into thinking they can do it.

However it was way harder than it looked as the slant position of the roofs were very slippery and could cause falling immediately it was stepped on.

Lucian jumped a few meters into the air skipping a house or two in an instant before landing on the ground, he would have to continue on foot.

One of the main reasons me decided to go on foot was, he was merely a kilometer away from the Templar Garrison, the night was cold and lonely.

It's stone slabbed pavements were hard, crisps and blown over, blown over by the taunting wind, in other words, the harbinger of the storm.

A darkness encroached figure with a curved end long pole like silhouette strapped to it's back, a figure which stood before the gates of the Templar garrison.

Lucian had long spotted two guards chatting the night away as they carried out their duties, ' No using the guns, that would only blow my cover, despite how powerful they are, plus they have limited ammo so their just for show ' he said to himself.

His steps were lightened till they weren't audible, still he had to be cautious, templar guards were mostly D to B ranked, he couldn't possibly tell the ranks of guards he sees by looking at their face.

Hoisting himself to the roof of the last civilian building in sight and jumped for the four meter wall enclosing the entire Templar Garrison.

With a faint thud he hit the wall, holding on it firmly whilst his other hand held on the hilt of his tachi, " Minimum Force " he whispered lunging on the first guard like a downcast shadow.

* Whoosh *, In a moment Lucian's blade had gone through the chainmail armor of the first guard, utilizing the eighty millisecond reaction speed noticed by mundane humans, he spun his body to deliver another instantaneous decapitation.

Soundless the bodies dropped with a muffled thud as if obeying Lucian's want of silence, he placed his blade between the elbows of his left hand and wiped it clean before placing it in it's scabbard.

Now his was in.

Clueless of his surroundings and target.

Unsure of the upcoming outcomes.

Desperate for the impending reward.

Yet The Bounty Time Ticked.

Fate was slowly carving it's path.
