ARIA POV
I woke up yelling, blood soaking the sheets beneath me. The pain in my belly was worse than anything I'd ever felt.
"Hold her down!" someone yelled. Through blurry eyes, I saw Lucien's worried face hovering over me.
"The babies," I gasped, clutching my stomach. "Something's wrong with our babies!"
Kael burst through the door, his face pale with fear. "What's happening?"
"The First Enemy," I managed to say between waves of pain. "It's trying to take our babies."
Jaxon lay unconscious in the bed next to mine, his body twitching fiercely. Black lines spread across his skin like spider webs. The fight I'd left in his dreams was continuing in the real world.
"We need to finish what we started," I said, trying to sit up despite the pain. "I need to purify the wolf spirit completely."
"You can't," Lucien objected, pushing me back down. "Look at you! You're bleeding. The babies—"
"Will die if we don't stop this now," I cut him off. "All of us will."
