Chapter 32 - How Stupid

Time passed quickly, and soon two hours had passed.

The white wolf remained motionless on the floor, and it seemed that he had really been drained of strength.

Ryan, now mostly recovered, still lingered by the cabin door. He observed the panting wolf outside with detached calmness.

Only a few hours were left, and he just had to buy time.

Anyway, the wolf couldn't open the door and was too starved to attack. Ryan could play this game of attrition—exhausting the beast until collapse.

The wolf seemed deflated. Even when Ryan pelted it with debris through the door crack, it didn't budge, its defiance completely shattered.

Ryan smirked. He had all the patience in the world. If the wolf wanted to play dead, let it. Starvation wasn't his problem.

In the blink of an eye, another three hours had passed.

The white wolf remained motionless, without any sound, as if it were already dead.

Ryan didn't care. He finished the last pack of compressed biscuits and drank half his water.

He wasn't ravenous, but he'd survive with less than four hours left. Better to act with nothing.

Dusk descended as twilight settled.

Ryan was not worried. The yacht's power system worked, and his navigation training finally proved helpful.

Yacht controls were universal. He quickly located the ignition.

The moment the yacht's engine started, the entire yacht lit up.

At this time, the white wolf suddenly raised his head and looked around, as if he did not expect that there was a light source on the yacht.

It slowly stood up, looked at Ryan in the yacht again, and finally decided not to pretend anymore.

Ryan was not surprised by this. Instead, he looked at the white wolf full of pity.

What delusion made this creature think feigning death would lure him out?

At this time, the wolf's eyes became fiercer than ever. After staring at Ryan awhile, he suddenly crashed into the cabin door without warning.

Boom boom boom!

Ryan frowned. The wolf slammed its body against the door crazy, desperate, relentless.

Ryan understood. This was its last stand.

It would never have another chance if it didn't fight hard now.

Starve to death... or break through and kill him. No middle ground.

The door warped visibly. Its collapse was imminent.

Ryan smiled faintly. Hefting the fire axe, he climbed to the helm and crawled out the front window.

The wolf ignored his escape, focused solely on battering the door—determined to sever his escape route.

The white wolf saw this scene outside the cabin, but it didn't care. Instead, it continued to bang on the cabin door, determined to cut off Ryan's retreat.

After Ryan climbed out, he saw that the white wolf had not caught up with him. He couldn't help but sigh, "How stupid."

Axe in hand, he ascended to the second deck.

There were multiple cabins on this three-story luxury yacht. He needed only to barricade himself again.

On the second floor, four cabins awaited. Ryan glanced at the exterior windows and entered one, sealing the door.

No sooner had he locked it than frantic footsteps charged upstairs. The door shuddered under impacts.

Rage and desperation filled the wolf's howls outside, laced with despair.

Ryan was not worried. The quality of such a luxury yacht was good, as the helm door had thoroughly verified it.

Ryan walked to the window of the room, opened the curtains, and after finding that he could go out directly through the window, he sat directly on the luxurious big bed and watched the white wolf knock on the door leisurely.

It became a familiar scene.

As the door splintered, Ryan exited through the window into the next cabin.

The wolf burst in, roaring, and attacked the new barrier.

Ryan simply strolled to another cabin, locking the wolf inside.

He was calm and composed the whole time, and walked straight over calmly without even running, while the white wolf was exhausted.

This cat-and-mouse chase across the second deck lasted two hours.

Only after the white wolf smashed all the doors and glass of the cabins on the second floor did Ryan go to the third floor of the yacht.

However, the top floor held a massive suite, occupying half the space, and the other half an open deck with a pool.

After Ryan went in and locked the door, he walked to a recliner by the window and lay down.

"Survival time."

"[1:18:57]"

He exhaled. Only one hour left.

Pounding at the door soon followed. Ryan didn't turn. He twirled the axe, calculating.

According to the wolf's previous performance and the physical energy he had consumed in these few hours.

It would take at least 20 minutes to break open this last door.

Even if it succeeded, its strength would be exhausted.

Ryan just needed to wait for the opportunity and then took action calmlyWhen the white wolf knocked on the door, Ryan searched the room but found nothing interesting.

He went back to the recliner and lay down, watching the white wolf continue to bang on the door.

Weaker than anticipated, it took a full half-hour to breach the door.

Ryan stood ready as the door splintered.

The moment the door was broken open, Ryan raised the axe and chopped down at the huge body rushing in.

"Ow!"

The door was only about one meter wide, just enough for the white wolf to pass through. In addition, its body was long, so Ryan's axe hit the white wolf right in the back.

Ryan used up almost all his strength and chopped half of the fire axe directly into the white wolf's body.

The white wolf let out a howl and waved its huge claws towards Ryan.

Ryan had anticipated that the white wolf might counterattack before dying, so the moment he hit it, he decisively let go and retreated violently.

Before the white wolf swung its claws and caught Ryan, he had already reached a safe distance.
