Atlas Hallow looked at her somewhat dejected expression, and suddenly wanted to tease her. It was a strange feeling; his anger had come quickly but seemed to leave just as fast. Like now, when she sat obediently on his lap talking to him, all of his anger slowly dissipated.
It was like parched, cracked earth being nurtured by a gentle spring rain, and his mood started to lift: "How would you know I disagree if you don't try? Am I that scary?"
Of course, he was scary. Didn't he know?
Her shoulder still hurt terribly, constantly reminding her of how rough and cruel Atlas Hallow had been just a moment ago.
"I want to do the work I love. Ethan just said that your partner Joseph Shaw found him and hopes we can join in on the New Energy City project. Will you agree?" Charlotte Miller finally asked. He couldn't possibly be unaware that Joseph Shaw had approached Ethan Baird, and suddenly Charlotte felt like she had no secrets in front of him.
