Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: 9 Divine Needles

Xiao Lin lazily drove his beloved silver-white QQ car, slowly moving along the wide road. Although Xiao Lin was used to driving fast, it was the rush hour between seven and eight in the morning, so he didn't mind admiring the beauties in their cool summer dresses on the roadside.

He glanced at the time; it was already 7:50. Xiao Lin sighed. It looked like he was going to be late for his first day of work. Knowing his own personality, if he was late, he was late, so he wasn't in a hurry. He was just about to take the chance to find a place to turn towards a roadside snack bar. Since he was already late, he didn't care about being a bit later. He wanted to fill his stomach first. Just as this thought came into his mind, and before he could turn the car, the cars in front of him stopped abruptly, as did the bicycles and motorcycles beside them.

Xiao Lin didn't immediately get out of the car. No one could say how long this standstill would last. Maybe it would only be a few seconds.

However, after more than a minute, Xiao Lin saw the drivers in front getting out of their cars and walking forward. At this point, Xiao Lin thought for a moment and also got out of the car. But his direction was different from those drivers in front; he headed towards a roadside breakfast shop, estimating that there was another traffic jam ahead and not knowing how long it would last this time.

"This is a great excuse!" Xiao Lin found a very good excuse for being late to work.

Many drivers, including some motorcyclists, flocked ahead, eager to see what had happened up there. Now, during the rush hour, the road got even more congested.

Xiao Lin went to the snack shop, ordered two egg pancakes and a cup of milk tea, and was about to return to his car when he suddenly overheard the conversation of two young women walking by.

"It's terrible up there; dozens of people are bleeding nonstop, and the ambulance from Rongsheng Hospital can't get in, so they have to wait in place for treatment. I heard some of the seriously injured can't be moved, or their lives are at risk, and there's no one to help stop the bleeding!" a round-faced girl said sympathetically.

"Yeah, I just saw a few surgeons from Rongsheng Hospital, and nobody went over to help!" another oval-faced beauty said.

Xiao Lin looked at the intersection ahead, where the crowd was growing. If things were just as those two girls said, there was no chance an ambulance could get through, and even getting a stretcher in would take a while.

Xiao Lin took a big step back to his car, pulled out a medium-sized travel bag, slung it over his shoulder, and rushed forward. When he reached the crowd, he had to shout, "Everyone, make way. I'm a doctor! Let me see if I can help!"

Yanjing's citizens were relatively moral, and upon hearing Xiao Lin, they made way. Quite a few girls glanced over and saw Xiao Lin's handsome face and tall, imposing figure, along with his sympathetic demeanor, and suddenly felt a sense of admiration. There aren't many like him these days; didn't those attending surgeons from Rongsheng Hospital in the back not even come over?

However, handsome as he might be, and tall as he might be, Xiao Lin didn't look like a doctor at all because he looked too young, at most twentyish, probably a university student.

Finally squeezing into the crowd, Xiao Lin saw that in the center of the crowd was a bus and five motorcycles. From Xiao Lin's angle, about four or five meters away from the last motorcycle, there were two people lying on the ground amidst a pool of blood. As for the owners of the other four motorcycles, they were also lying on the ground, some had passed out, and some could still sit up, but the injuries all looked quite severe. The headlamp of the bus had been smashed, with one of the motorcycles stuck in the front.

The onlookers were discussing it amongst themselves.

"I guess those two are done for. So many people driving so fast, crashing right in front of the bus, and dragging the other motorcycles down with them!"

"Ah, young people these days, too reckless!"

Meanwhile, only two female traffic cops were maintaining order at the crossroads. When they looked over to the other side of the intersection, they could hear police and ambulance sirens echoing in the air, but they weren't coming over. This jammed intersection wasn't going to clear any time soon, so it was too optimistic to think they could get through. But the cars behind, as soon as they saw the situation ahead, knew they wouldn't get through for at least an hour or two. They wisely backed up, warning one another to take other routes.

At this time, one of the female traffic cops, who was nearer, saw a young man of about twenty, carrying a travel bag, heading toward the center. She quickly shouted to Xiao Lin, "Young man, this is a traffic accident scene. Please maintain order and don't cause trouble!"

Xiao Lin looked at the female traffic cop, with her long legs, tall figure, and beautiful face, the uniform was quite tempting!

At this moment, the female police officer was covered in sweat. Although it was not even eight o'clock in the morning, this damned weather was hot. It was September already, and the morning sun was so scorching. Who knew what noon would be like?

Seeing Xiao Lin's rather lecherous look, the female cop grew even angrier, ready to lash out.

"I'm a doctor. I can help the injured up ahead!" Xiao Lin said seriously, which stunned the female cop for a moment. But no matter how she looked at him, this young man was at most twenty-one years old, definitely not older, and in Huaxia, getting a doctor's qualification was so difficult. Could he really have gotten it at such a young age?

The female cop was taken aback. This lecherous kid was a doctor? And at this moment, when she looked at Xiao Lin again, his handsome face was serious, completely different from the earlier lecherous expression he showed towards her. Was it an illusion before? Was this the real him?
