"She's back?" Uchiha Yao, observing from the sidelines, was stunned to see Gin awaken Light from her controlled state.
He hadn't anticipated this. His plan to use Light to destroy the Uchiha was derailed.
"But I've got a backup," he muttered. His ashen eyes lingered on Gin, a flicker of conflict passing through before they turned inky and lifeless.
His Mangekyo pattern shifted. From Gin's shadow, a black mass detached, slithering toward the Kaguya.
Freed, Kaguya Soisuke warily eyed the two young Uchiha.
The situation was hopeless. Tajima had likely seen through their diversion. Escape was the only option before the teens noticed.
"Going somewhere, Elder Soisuke?" A ghostly voice whispered in his ear. He spun, finding no one.
As he moved to flee, his shadow sprouted a black head.
With an eerie grin, it melted into ink, merging with Soisuke. The familiar sensation of control washed over him.
"Hahaha, Uchiha brats, got your last words ready?" Soisuke's roar shattered the silence, his eyes mad with violence. Bone blades sprouted from his hands, and he charged.
Gin frowned, holding the weakened Light, drained from overusing her Mangekyo. Having broken Yachihoko's hold, he was near-blind, barely mustering his remaining chakra. He dodged Soisuke's attack, carrying Light.
"Just dodging, kid?" Soisuke taunted. Gin, unfazed, activated his right Mangekyo.
Sensing the lock, Soisuke swerved. Black flames meant for his chest engulfed his right arm.
"Hiss!" The searing Amaterasu scorched Wangliang, possessing Soisuke. Though Yin-Yang Release made him immune to death by fire, the pain was real.
Decisively, Wangliang made Soisuke sever the burning arm with a bone blade. It fell, consumed by flames, reduced to ash.
Cutting losses? Gin thought, stunned. Chopping off his arm like that?
He had no chakra left for Mangekyo techniques.
Setting Light down, Gin gritted his teeth, drawing his long-neglected blade. Three tomoe appeared in his eyes.
Time to fight Uchiha-style.
Bone Pulse: Dance of the Camellia. Soisuke, with one arm, swung his bone blade at the bold Uchiha.
Gin's three-tomoe Sharingan conserved energy, its insight predicting Soisuke's flurry of attacks, parrying each.
Frustrated, Soisuke discarded his blade, charging for close-quarters combat.
Bone Pulse: Dance of the Larch.
Transforming into a spiky porcupine, Soisuke rushed Gin. Caught off guard, Gin was grazed, blood blooming across his body. Even Sharingan couldn't dodge everything.
As they clashed, Yao, spectating, sensed Tajima and Yan approaching. A cruel smile spread across his aged face. "Finally here. Time to feel my pain."
His eyes swirled with black mist. Soisuke's body froze, retracting his bone spikes.
Gin, wary, wondered what trick the dominant Kaguya was pulling.
Soisuke's square face twisted into a sinister grin, hands slamming the ground.
Sensing surging chakra, Gin knew a massive AOE was coming. He sprinted to Light, aiming to escape the range.
Reaching her, his Sharingan's keen sight revealed a horrifying truth.
His aunt and her three children lay near Soisuke, within the jutsu's range. Gin, ahead of Soisuke, was too far to reach them.
Hoisting Light, he ran with all his might toward his aunt, but Soisuke's technique completed, confirming his worst fears.
Bone Pulse: Dance of the Fern.
A forest of white bones erupted across a kilometer, swallowing Tajima's chakra-drained, unconscious wife and her children.
"No!" Gin roared in despair.
"No!" Tajima, racing back, watched his family vanish into the grim bone forest.
Ignoring the sharp bones cutting him, Gin frantically charged to where his aunt lay, Tajima joining him. They snapped bones barehanded, clinging to hope, but the sight shattered them.
The gentle woman was breathless, impaled by bone spikes. Her children, too, were claimed by the merciless forest.
"Aaagh!" Tajima collapsed, his beloved wife and newborns brutally taken.
The gut-wrenching pain dizzied him, a surge of cold chakra bursting from his mind. His three-tomoe Sharingan spun wildly.
This isn't real! He tried to deny the agony.
His grief sublimated his Sharingan. The tomoe merged, forming a pinwheel pattern—Mangekyo awakened.
"Hahaha! Now you know the pain of losing those you love!" Yao, clutching his jar, laughed maniacally, tears streaming.
"Wangliang, kill Tajima," he ordered, wiping his eyes.
Under Wangliang's control, Soisuke didn't hesitate, sprouting a bone spear to impale the dazed Tajima.
"Clan Leader, watch out!" Shuriken whistled through, forcing Soisuke back. Yan, panting, arrived, gasping at the carnage.
Seeing Tajima's wife, his old eyes flared with icy rage. She was like a daughter to him.
Before he could act, Gin, emerging from his stupor, raised his head. His crimson eyes held a single black dot, spinning faintly.
Amaterasu.
A fireball-sized black flame engulfed Soisuke.
Prepared, Wangliang armored Soisuke in bone, then shed it like a cicada, evading the lethal strike.
"Wangliang, return," Yao commanded, seeing Gin recover and Yan's arrival. His goal was met.
"What happened?" Soisuke, freed, felt pain in his severed arm. Surrounded by his bone forest, he was baffled.
"Tsukuyomi."
A cold voice echoed. Soisuke looked up, a red moon descending upon him.
