Chapter 92 - You’re Just an Emotionless Wild Pointer

Li Qiao tilted her chin slightly, her gaze lazy as she looked at Liu Yun. "That's right."

Liu Yun immediately circled around to her side and opened the car's rear door with a respectful nod.

"Miss Li, please get in. I'll take you there."

Under the night sky, Li Qiao glanced briefly at the Bentley Continental.

Same model as the Rolls-Royce, but notably lacking the Yanhuang Group's emblem.

Hands still in her pockets, she shrugged with a smile.

"Thanks for the trouble."

Without hesitation, she got into the car.

There was no need to ask who arranged this.

After all, she had personally told Shang Yu earlier that afternoon that she'd be going to the police station after the banquet—and she'd also had a few drinks, which meant she shouldn't drive.

So every action Liu Yun took tonight left Li Qiao feeling a rare warmth, a comforting sense of being cared for.

——

At Nanyang Police Station, just before entering, Liu Yun stood beside the car and said quietly,

"Miss Li, I'll be waiting out here."

Li Qiao looked up at him, gave a short nod, then stepped through the front doors.

It was exactly 7:30 p.m. Only a few duty officers and auxiliary police were on shift in the lobby.

Upon spotting Li Qiao, Officer Xiao Wang immediately greeted her with great respect and ushered her into a reception room, even pouring her a cup of tea.

"Miss Li, please wait here a moment. I'll go bring him in."

Li Qiao nodded while holding the paper cup, her eyes cool and detached under the warm reception room lighting.

Xiao Wang gently shut the door behind him and let out a long breath.

He knew this Miss Li wasn't ordinary!

Not only did Director Fei personally handle her case, but even Liu Yun from the Yanhuang Group had shown up in person.

What was even crazier was that the arrogant, high-and-mighty Deputy Director Zhang was suddenly taken away by a temporary investigation team not long after Li Qiao left the station.

That scene?

Absolutely satisfying.

——

In less than five minutes, a very dejected Li Shaoquan was led into the reception room by Xiao Wang—still clutching half a steamed bun.

Standing at the door, he looked at the relaxed and composed Li Qiao, and his lips quivered like he was about to cry.

Li Qiao crossed one leg over the other, hands tucked in her pockets, and gave him a look that was half amusement, half disdain. She nodded toward the chair in front of her.

"Learned your lesson yet?"

Li Shaoquan nodded as he shuffled forward, looking super wronged. He tossed the bun into a trash can and wiped his face. Then he muttered under his breath:

"You're just an emotionless wild pointer."

Apparently, he was really upset if he was out here cursing in C language.

Li Qiao raised an eyebrow, her smile teasing, as her index finger tapped rhythmically on the armrest.

"When Guan Mingyu and her brother left, did they say anything to you?"

Li Shaoquan scratched at his head, pulled at his hair, and collapsed into the chair like a puddle.

"She… said she really liked me. But she agreed to break up. A-And she even apologized to me."

Li Qiao's gaze flickered, and she watched his despondent face with thoughtful eyes.

"You're a technician. Didn't you notice that the photo didn't have any beauty filters?"

Li Shaoquan froze, then lowered his head and mumbled,

"Of course I noticed. But how else do you explain that face of hers? You weren't there when we met offline—my heart broke right there."

Knock knock—

At that moment, the door to the reception room opened slightly, and Xiao Wang poked his head in, speaking politely:

"Miss, sir, I've retrieved your personal belongings. I just need you to sign this document—would that be alright?"

Li Qiao nodded, and Xiao Wang stepped in, holding out their belongings with both hands. Then he added enthusiastically:

"Miss, Director Fei asked me to tell you: if you ever need anything at the station again and he's not here, just call for me anytime. My name's Wang Chuanchuan."

Li Qiao replied with her usual calmness. "Alright. Thank you."

Wang Chuanchuan quickly waved it off. "No thanks needed!"

Then, clutching the signed documents, he left the room—feeling like his future career had just opened up into a bright, limitless sky.
