She glanced at her younger brother, who was sleeping in the living room, hugging his toy. Jenny looked at the clock. She just sighed back then.
Until now, she still gazes at the picture of her mother and the one with her in the photo she found back then.
Are we getting closer to the truth? Jenny asked herself back then. So, are we continuously chasing after a truth that eludes us? She would just sigh whenever she thought about it.
Jenny stood up when she felt eyes watching her, so she immediately looked to see who was watching them then. She couldn't help but feel a surge of anxiety because the enemies might have also discovered their respective secrets back then.
Calm down, Jenny. She scolded herself back then.
She heard what sounded like a door opening.
"Jenny." This one called out.
When she heard her brother's voice, her body, which was full of tension, suddenly became comfortable.
She greeted her brother then.
"Brother." She immediately said that.
Jenny even saw Felix stretch and yawn.
"I'll make you some coffee first." She immediately said it and went to the kitchen.
While she was brewing coffee, she couldn't shake the thought of whether Mikaela had found the answers to her questions about why she would return to the mansion where her life was turning into hell.
Someone tugged at the sleeve of her shirt, and she flinched, immediately looking at his brother.
"Why, Greg?" She looked at her brother gently.
"Sis, brother needs coffee." That's all she heard from her brother.
"Wait, I'll head there now." She quickly hurried her actions to give Felix the coffee he requested.
After that, Jenny immediately went to the table where her brother was waiting, rubbing his forehead.
Jenny guessed Felix had another hangover because of his recent work.
"Thank you, Jen." Jenny heard her brother's gratitude towards her.
She just nodded, and Jenny also sat down on the vacant chair.
She quietly stared into space, listening to the ticking of the clock.
"What are you thinking about, Jenny?" This is what he asked her.
"It's still playing in my mind, and I still can't believe that Mom and Ellese's mother knew each other back then." shook her head.
Felix didn't say anything and just sipped the hot coffee she had given him.
"How is Thalia doing, brother?" She asked.
"She's doing fine. I know your sister is being very careful." Her brother replied.
Jenny just nodded at what she heard; she needed to sleep because she was getting sleepy now.
"Brother, I haven't slept yet; I'm going to sleep now." Saying goodbye to her older brother.
"Rest well, Jenny." She said and nodded.
She immediately entered the room, lay down, and closed her eyes, and soon she was engulfed by darkness.
She woke up because she couldn't breathe and was losing her breath at that moment, and she needed to take in air.
Jenny was suddenly shocked to find herself trapped in a coffin; it was just big enough for a person, but as time passed, each breath became tighter.
That's how she felt; the surroundings were tightening, and she was having difficulty breathing. She was starting to feel scared and panicked about why she was trapped in the chest.
She suddenly jolted because there was a little girl next to her crying while banging on the coffin with all her might, hoping that people outside would hear her.
"Help! Help! I don't want to be here! I don't want to be here!" That was the sound of a little girl crying and pleading. She was crying, her sweat and snot from crying and pleading.
Jenny was also having difficulty breathing; she guessed the little girl couldn't see her.
Suddenly, the trunk opened, and light poured over them; she felt a fresh breeze.
"What? Are you still going to steal that notebook, Mikaela?" A boy, whom she estimated to be around fourteen years old, asked.
Jenny didn't know the man. She flinched upon hearing Mikaela's name.
Mikaela didn't answer, just looked at the man who had locked her in the trunk. She even saw her combing her hair and looking at Mikaela intently.
"Are you still going to be stubborn?" He asked again.
"Let go of Mikaela!" immediately pushed the man who hurt Mikaela before.
"Ellese," she said.
Am I back in the past of the two twins again? She wondered in her mind.
Jenny just gasped because the two twins were being pointed at with guns. She immediately registered the twins' fear at that moment.
"C --- Come on, Mikaela." Ellese tugged Mikaela's hand and helped her twin, who is about seven years old.
The two children left without a word and were only watched by the man who pointed a gun at them.
She went to a room where the only light was a hanging bulb. She saw a woman sitting who, in her estimation, was in pain, crying and enduring the pain in her body. Jenny saw many bruises.
"Ellese." Mentioning her name.
"Don't worry, Mikaela, someone will save us; let's endure, let's endure, Mikaela." She said weakly.
She was surrounded by young ladies, clearly college students. The uniform she was wearing was soaked in blood.
She covered her mouth back then. Jenny couldn't bear to watch the past of the two twins back then.
She only noticed that the place had changed again, and she was in a long darkness where no one could answer how far that darkness extended.
"Jenny." There was a voice calling her.
So she turned around to see who called her. When Jenny turned around, she was met with the gazes of Ellese and Felisa.
Felisa smiled at her. She didn't know if she should be happy.
"Help Mikaela, Jenny." Pleading with her back then.
Jenny couldn't answer back then; she was confused about what to say to the siblings.
"I know your lives are in turmoil right now, but there's nothing we can do because you are the ones who know the real situation." Felisa said.
Jenny just sighed. "I will try my best to help her." She said it exclusively.
The two siblings nodded as well, and she suddenly woke up. Jenny pressed her forehead, wondering what was happening in her dream.
She couldn't fall asleep again, so she just lay there, staring at their ceiling.
