"Sasuke, save me!"

Uzumaki Karin was being held hostage by the cold-blooded Danzo. Her face was pale with terror, and her trembling voice echoed with desperation. She looked at Sasuke Uchiha—whose hands crackled with Chidori—hoping once again that he'd save her like a dark knight.

After drinking her blood moments ago, Sasuke had replenished some chakra. Now, he stood tall, his eyes like frozen daggers, coldly surveying the battlefield.

Across from him, Shimura Danzo—believing himself once again in control—launched into another monologue.

As he rambled about bleeding for Konoha, claiming to be the true visionary of the shinobi world, and ranting about how he mustn't die before becoming Hokage, his words were met with unimpressed silence.

Akatsuki members watching the footage couldn't help but cringe.

"Is this guy serious?"

With Sasuke standing right there, lightning flashing from his palm, and Obito observing silently from the shadows, Danzo chose now to rant?

Classic villain mistake—talking too damn much.

He didn't have Naruto's Talk-no-Jutsu plot armor, yet he was out here with the same disease—monologuing his way into death.

Uzumaki Nagato found Danzo repulsive. Watching him brought back memories of how Yahiko and the original Akatsuki had been manipulated by men just like him. The guilt gnawed at Nagato's chest.

He shifted his gaze to Karin—the girl who, once the quiz ended, he had plans to reclaim.

But more than power, Nagato valued character.

Power could be taught. Morality, compassion, and resolve? Those were innate.

What choice would Sasuke Uchiha make now?

---

"Karin, don't move."

Uchiha Sasuke's voice was low, calm, and unwavering.

Karin's eyes lit up. Her hope surged. She steadied her breath and remained completely still, doing exactly as he said.

She knew Sasuke's attack would pass just beside her—brushing her—and strike Danzo behind.

She trusted him.

Sasuke wouldn't abandon her. His chakra… it always felt so warm, so safe.

A flutter rose in her chest. She shut her eyes, imagining the scene afterward:

Sasuke catching her gently in his arms, his hand softly resting on her waist, whispering to her—

"Sorry to scare you… my dear princess."

Her face blushed bright red.

But then—

Suddenly.

Her eyes snapped open.

Joy shattered into disbelief.

Sasuke had driven the Chidori Spear through both Danzo—and her.

Her mouth trembled. Blood dripped from the corners of her lips.

Sasuke…

He…

He killed her—without hesitation.

And even worse—he'd told her not to move.

Not to protect her.

To line up the shot better.

Tears spilled freely down her cheeks. Her vision blurred from the mix of sorrow and blood.

---

"Hahaha, one down, 'nii-san! Did you see that? I killed one of your enemies!"

"Konoha's next, brother!!"

Sasuke stood, laughing maniacally, lightning crackling in his hand. He had finally taken vengeance—one piece at a time.

But to Karin…

He had become a monster.

In her eyes, the warm-hearted avenger she had loved had turned into a Shura, a demon from hell.

Terror consumed her. Despair clutched her soul.

The Chidori Spear's searing chakra wrecked her body, burning through cells, but she felt none of it.

Her real pain wasn't physical.

Her heart had been crushed.

Why did that warmth she loved… belong to someone like him?

Why couldn't Sasuke feel the pain he caused?

Why didn't his heart ache?

Her soul felt hollow.

---

"Hahaha! You still thought he'd save you?"

"What a joke. Did you really trust that lunatic?"

Her teammates mocked her from behind.

But Karin couldn't refute them.

All she could do was stare at the screen—at her dying future self, pale and trembling on the ground.

Was this the man she'd chosen?

If it had been forced, she could understand…

But it was voluntary.

She thought about the way her face had glowed in the earlier scene, full of naive anticipation.

She couldn't lie to herself anymore.

She scoffed bitterly.

"Blind... I was so blind."

---

There is no betrayal more brutal than one that comes from love.

In the footage, Karin looked up at Sasuke—bloodied, broken, disillusioned.

"To you… what am I?"

Sasuke's voice was flat, cold, unfeeling.

"A hostage. A burden."

That one sentence extinguished every last spark inside her.

Her body collapsed.

Her glasses slipped from her face, spinning midair before shattering on the floor.

Darkness claimed her.

The last thing she saw was Sasuke's twisted smile.

---

The video continued.

Danzo, barely clinging to life, was stunned by Sasuke's ruthlessness.

Terrified, he tried to flee.

But his injuries slowed him down—he was barely faster than a crawling insect.

Behind him, Sasuke gave chase like a predator savoring the hunt. His eyes were merciless, his blade gleaming.

"This Sasuke… isn't right," Nagato said flatly.

He shook his head. Compared to Naruto—this boy was a lost cause.

He was too far gone.

Nagato had once believed he could lead others down a better path, but someone like Sasuke?

No way.

The cruelty, the anger, the madness—it ran too deep.

Even he couldn't fix that.

---

"Sasuke…"

Sakura watched the scene, her voice barely a whisper.

This version of Sasuke… was nothing like the one she remembered.

Her emotions flickered—hurt, confusion, fear.

---

"Kurotsuchi, Deidara—never fight this one unless you have to," Onoki growled to his subordinates.

"He's a mad dog."

Even if Sasuke was undeniably powerful, Onoki would never call him a true shinobi.

A ninja who kills his own comrades has no honor—no village, no legacy, just a trail of corpses.

"If you ever fight him… kill him fast. Don't talk like Danzo did and give him a chance to snap."

Onoki glanced at Deidara, who stood with a dark expression.

"Don't take it personally, Deidara. I know you wouldn't make rookie mistakes. I'm just warning the kid."

But Deidara didn't reply.

His face darkened further.

Sasuke… Itachi's brother…

And someone who would likely become Akatsuki's ally in the future.

The irony made Deidara clench his fists.

---

On screen, the chase ended.

Danzo knew he couldn't escape. Back against the wall, with Sasuke and Obito closing in, he thought of Hiruzen Sarutobi—and activated his final technique.

The Four Symbols Seal.

Explosive sealing marks flared across his body.

Half the bridge was destroyed in the blast.

Obito whisked Sasuke away just in time.

The screen faded to black.
