The Indo-Pak war became full blown as India invaded Lahore, Karachi and East Bengal to liberate them.
"People of East Bengal, its time to rise up against the Muslim League which supported the British in killing Bengal by creating famine! It's time to rise up against Pakistan which wants to erase Bengali history, language and culture!"
PM Krishna Kumar's language policy was clear. Linguistic states, official recognition to the many languages of India, and a second language, be it Sanskrit or Hindi which will be decided in the parliament, as also a compulsory language and medium in Sciences and Maths.
Unlike Pakistan, where Jinnah has promised to Urdu be the only language, and it being imposed on everyone.
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, a close friend of Krishna, was leading a movement against Pakistan. To unite Bengal.
The Indian Air Force had directly bombed and destroyed Muslim League headquarters and East Bengal's legislative building has been surrounded.
While taking back Bengal was looking easier due to most of Myslim League's leadership being in West Pakistan, fighting on the Western Front was becoming increasingly difficult.
The Indian military was stretched thin. Lahore region was plains, and Karachi region was coastal. Meaning a huge population density.
But due to Karachi region having not faced as much violence as Pubjab, and having a substantial non-muslim population, the Navy successfully entered the land after destroying Pakistani Navy.
The world started putting pressure on both sides for a ceasefire.
India claimed that Pakistan invaded India first, while Pakistan changed its narrative.
Before, it said that it was a batallion which went rogue.
Now, it said that it was actually an Indian group which had infiltrated Pakistani military, to use it as an excuse to start the war.
Arab countries, as expected, supported Pakistan and put an embargo on oil for India.
But USSR came in and started exporting cheaper oil to India.
USA and UK got suspicious, since USSR had used its Veto against Pakistan.
It was now time to decide whether to support India or Pakistan.
UK just told both India and Pakistan to calm down and have a ceasefire, but did not support anyone, especially militarily. It didn't want India to turn more Anti-British after the UN Veto event.
USA, on the other hand, was debating more cautiously.
Even if USA supports Pakistan, will it survive this war?
And even if it does, it is very likely that it is going to lose East Bengal and Karachi.
And it will turn India Anti-USA, and send it straight into USSR's camp.
But if Pakistan does survive, it can be a strategic ally due to its geography. Supporting India will alienate Pakistan.
So, USA also chose to be neutral in the conflict.
Inside India itself, many from the Congress Party was advocating for ceasefire and peace. Despite Pakistan having killed Gandhi.
"Don't confuse non-existence of war with peace. In Mahabharat, even Lord Krishna said that in the face of Adharm, war is necessary. It is a duty.
Let's say we stop today when we have the advantage. Let the evil of Pakistan continue. We allow it to genocide all those who don't agree to its ideology.
It will only go stronger and attack us. We know who we are. Indians.
But they deny who they are, and their identity is rejecting and being an enemy of us.
They killed Gandhi ji and lakhs of us, they invaded us, so it is foolishness to let them go easily.
We can't let ourselves repeat the mistakes of Prithviraj Chauhan against those who idoloize Ghori."
Still, the pressure was high.
Moreover, India also needed to prepare against conflicts from China in the very near future.
The Punjab front faced heavy casualties, but under the premise of revenge and bringing back Lahore and cities like Kartarpur, the Indian forces were more motivated.
On 23rd October, Indian Army captured Lahore.
On the same day, the army from Jammu captured Kartarpur.
Karachi fell on 24th October as majority of the Pakistani leadership fled to London, and the army surrendered seeing their leaders fleeing. The entire Sindh region was captured.
Moreover, Balochistan was offered to become an Indian protectorate instead of Pakistan's. While no reply came, both India and Balochistan didn't cross each other.
Pakistani leadership in East Bengal also fled, leading to the Pakistani army surrendering and India capturing Dhaka on 28th October.
"Krishna ji, I think we should have a ceasefire. Any more war, and we would become vulnerable."
As soon as the Chief of Army Staff said that, Krishna immediately agreed.
Pakistan has become a landlocked country if we ignore Balochistan. It still has majority of Punjab, and Pashtun regions are ready to revolt against Indian Army's presence.
Keeping Pakistan alive to turn Balochistan in India's favour wouldn't be bad.
"Alright. We will end this war."
Jinnah agreed to the ceasefire, and he would meet in Delhi for post-war negotiations.
And, it will be a perfect event for the establishment of Asian Union.
