"Give me time to think about it" said Maria Moore removing his hands from her face.
"Okay I'll but am sorry I have to do this at least" he said inching closer for her lips. " I want to kiss you_please" he said reluctantly saying the please.
When he didn't get any response from her he took her silence as a yes.
He only wanted to kiss her lightly but when he sealed his lips with hers he was electrified and he deepens the kiss sucking on her lips, Maria gasped which he took the opportunity to invade her mouth tasting every inch and sucking the flavor on her tongue.
He let her go when they were out of breath, joining their forehead together.
"I won't be myself if I hadn't kissed you, thank you" Edward James said brushing of imaginary hair off her face.
"You should get back to work" Maria Moore told him looking for an excuse to excape as she can feel his hot breath on her face.
"I'll be waiting for your response" he told her now letting her walk back to her previous seat.
" By the way why's Ms Bold in the hospital?" Edward James asked
"I don't know, I saw a group of crowed when coming in the morning but asked the chauffeur to stop and check it out, he got back and told me it's Ms Bold, the rescue team came took her to the hospital and the rest was history".
"You should be careful with her, I don't want you getting into trouble or getting hurt because of her" Edward James told her.
"I won't_ I'll be heading back now but I will stop by the hospital to see how Ms Bold is doing"
"Okay" said Edward smiling at her, he was all in a jolly mood for the rest of my day and even at the board meeting when a department head gave the wrong presentation everyone else feared including the manager who was scared.
' can today be any worse than this, how will I be able to buy the villa for my family now_ a crippled mother an autism child, my wife is in her finals with tuition fees yet unpayed' the manager thought but didn't expect what his boss said next.
"Three minutes to get it fixed" Edward James told the manager.
"Right away young master" with that the manager disappeared from the meeting to get the right files.
Others were wide eyed as the devil wore a white cloth today.
At the city hospital Maria is feeding some bird nest soup to Kessy who got her right arm fractured and her head rapped up in bandage.
" I can't eat more than this, thank you" Kessy said to Maria.
"Okay, do you need anything I'll get it"
"No am good but_" Kessy paused not sure if Maria will help her.
"But what Kessy, you can say what ever it is_ a problem shared is a problem half solved" Maria Moore encouraged her.
"It's half solved with the right person but more trouble with the wrong one" Kessy said with a slight smile.
" Seems you have trust issues" Maria Moore said chuckling a little.
"Before this happened it's a No" Kessy said pointing at her disfigured body.
"I don't want to ask you what happened, I believe you'd speak up when the time comes. Right now you need to focus on your recovery" said Maria Moore
"It seems you're close friends with Mr James" Kessy said looking at Maria, who locked eyes with her.
"Don't get me wrong, am not interested in him" Kessy said but Maria waved her hand.
"No that's not it, but, it seems you want something from him" said Maria
"Yes I need his help else I won't see my child again" Kessy said as her tears gave way unable to hold it in.
Maria Moore felt broken but was able to hold up, she felt Kessy's pain as she has been there before_ the pain of losing a child or rather children.
"I can't promise anything but I'll try and get him to speak with you" Maria Moore told her as she's not sure if Edward James will want to help her.
"I understand" Kessy said.
