Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: An unfortunate encounter

One of the princess's maids showed me to a room and handed Trixie the dress before leaving.

It was ten times fancier than my room.

I sat down on the bed, glaring at Trixie as I asked, "So why exactly did you spill tea on me?"

"Well, my lady, we both know you would have done something dumb if I didn't," Trixie replied calmly.

"Yeah? And how are you so sure?"

"Because when you see someone extremely good-looking, you lose the little bit of intelligence you have."

I froze. She was right, "Just go out–I need to change."

After a while, I was finally done changing. I looked in the mirror, admiring the beautiful black dress with hints of red I had changed into.

It was so comfortable–the fabric was unbelievably soft!

I exited the room, following the princess's maid back to the garden, with Trixie trailing behind.

As we were walking, a little white rabbit came out of nowhere. The princess maid shrieked, hiding behind Trixie.

I knelt down and held my hand out. The rabbit came closer, sniffing before rubbing its head against me.

I gently picked it up and petted it, saying, "It's fine. It won't hurt you."

But the maid looked just as afraid, saying, "It's an animal, Lady Deacon, it could harm you."

The rabbit moved its head a little, and the maid screamed again before fainting.

Trixie caught her as I sighed saying, "Take her to the infirmary or something. I can make it back on my own."

"Are you sure, Lady Selene?"

"Yeah, don't worry, I'll be fine."

"It's just… you don't seem like someone with the best sense of direction."

"Just go!"

"Of course, my lady–but in my absence, please try not to get executed."

"Trixie!"

"I'll take my leave then."

Trixie slightly bowed before leaving with the maid.

Did I really seem so careless?

I wonder whose rabbit this belongs to?

As I had exited the castle I was walking through the path with beautiful flowers and trees on both sides making my way towards the garden when someone suddenly ran into me and we both fell to the floor.

I rubbed the back of my head while the rabbit sat beside me.

As I sat up looking at the person I bumped into my blood ran cold. I quietly stood up as I tried to leave before they saw my face when I heard them mumble, "Snowdrop?"

I glanced at the rabbit in my hand as it jumped out, hopping towards the girl.

I heard her sniffle, as if trying not to cry, before asking, "Are you the one who found him?"

"...Yeah. I have to go now, bye!" I replied, hoping to get away from her as fast as I could.

"Wait! Please don't go, I want to thank you somehow!" She exclaimed, grabbing my hand.

My back was still turned towards her as I said, "It's fine really it was nothing much."

"Please!"

"It's fine, really just let go."

"It isn't right for me to just let you go like that!"

Dang it, why is she so persistent?!

"Really all I want is for you to let go… of… my… arm!" I exclaimed, yanking my hand way too hard.

She fell to the ground as I finally turned to face her. Tears welled up in her blue eyes as her lip trembled.

She's going to cry! You idiot, why didn't you just leave me alone, if you had none of this would have happened!

Then she suddenly started crying, mind you this girl was 18 years old!

"Hey… Look at me. I can make funny faces, see." I said, trying to make her laugh.

She was crying because she fell just like a kid would so of course I'm going to treat her like one!

Nothing was working as I just stood there with a smile on my face while trying not to panic! (I was panicking).

I mean I could always just leave her there but that might come back to bite me later on. And then just as I thought would happen if I stayed next to her long enough, disaster struck.

A handsome 21 year old boy with short purple hair walked by and I won't lie I did really look suspicious.

There I was, standing in front of a beautiful girl who was crying on the ground, with a smile on my face that probably looked like a grin.

God this was why I wanted to get away from her as soon as possible!

And of all the people to bump into us it was the guy most obsessed with her! The two people I disliked the most in this story!

He stared at the girl on the floor in shock mumbling, "Hera." before kneeling in front of her as he asked her, "What's wrong why are you crying, please tell me."

But he couldn't make out what she was saying as she cried.

I took a step back as I tried to escape when he suddenly drew his sword, the tip stopping right in front of my throat as he asked, "What did you do to her?!"

I nervously smiled as I said, "I-It's all a misunderstanding, really she can tell you." I looked behind him towards Hera as I said, "Tell him this is all a misunderstanding."

She stared at me with tears still in her eyes as she stuttered barely even being able to say, "I'm sorry." lowering her head as tears continued to fall to the grass, her long curly blond hair covering her face.

The boy looked at me angrier than before as he said, "What in the world do to her, answer wisely or it'll be the last thing you say."

WHAT TYPE OF HEROINE JUST SITS AND CRIES WHILE SOMEONE IS BEING WRONGFULLY ACCUSED!

That's right. I was standing in front of the pure-of-heart heroine and disaster magnet: Miss Hera Ariti!

And as always the moment she was somewhere, disaster struck the person closest to her who was an irrelevant character to the plot.

In this case me!

And right now one of the people whose heart she had captured and a fan favorite because of how he treats Hera the crown prince, Prince Stephen Vasilios was about to end my life if I answered wrongly!

He was stubborn, a good fighter and ruthless towards anyone who hurt Hera. So I highly doubt he would believe the truth! And if he did he would definitely still find a reason to end my life!

Trixie, where are you?!
