Chapter 59 - The Web Walker

The thing that rose from the abyss defied comprehension.

It emerged slowly, deliberately, like a nightmare taking its time to fully manifest. First came the legs: eight massive appendages that weren't quite spider limbs. Each one was as thick as a tree trunk, covered in what looked like crystalline scales that caught and refracted the wild territory's chaotic light into prismatic rainbows.

The legs gripped the edges of the pit with careful precision, and Saguna could see that what he'd mistaken for a web was actually part of the creature itself. Organic strands that emerged from specialized organs along its limbs, hardened into crystal but retaining the flexibility of living tissue.

"A Web Walker," Marius breathed, his usual composure finally cracking slightly. "I thought they were defeated."
