Chapter 45 - 045:- The Wedding Night

Luka walked a short way down and then dematerialized. The familiar surroundings didn't surprise him as much as they should have, even though he hadn't been intending to come here. His skin had a vibrant flush to it, his breaths coming out stilted, his blood aflame, but he composedly made his way towards Alessio's favorite couch.

It was positioned so one could see out of the balcony, a never-empty gold bowl of grapes sitting on the low table in front of it.

Luka lowered himself down, he had known that Alessio's rooms would be empty, it was his wedding celebrations after all. Sitting down felt like falling into a cloud of Alessio's scent, it made his eyes heavy.

He knew he shouldn't stay here, if, for some reason, Alessio returned to his room, the rest of his barely there self-control would crumble away like dust.

Luka lifted his hands slowly to fiddle with his dress shirt, he had lost his cravat and a few buttons, and even though his brain was addled with pleasure, he still wanted to be presentable while he was in Alessio's space.

He froze when his sharp ears picked up on voices nearby, panic and anticipation blending in his blood red eyes into an enticing mix of madness. Luka tried to will himself to rise to his feet and leave, he had heard Alessio's voice, even though he had been unable to make out the words, it was only a matter of time before Alessio walked through those doors…

Luka felt himself tense up, counting down the seconds until the perfect persona he had spent years sculpting for Alessio would crumble. He closed his eyes when he heard a door open, his eyelids wrenching open when he didn't hear the voice he was waiting for.

The door was still closed. Luka was sure that he had heard Alessio's voice, and if he wasn't here, it meant that he had gone to Silvan's room with him. He shot to his feet, his blood boiling now, but he didn't go over to the human Prince's room like everything within him clamored for, instead, he dematerialized back to his.

It was difficult to accept and condone, but Luka hadn't forgotten the Queen's threat. He was anything but patient, but the human Prince only had so many years to live.

He tore off his clothes and went right for a bath, the warm water felt like acid against his sensitized skin, making him hiss in discomfort. As he reached down to find an outlet for the fire under his skin, the vision behind his closed lids was of pale hair and droopy red eyes.

Silvan might have lost himself while he spoke about his sister. Eleanor's life had essentially been a secret, known only to a few, he wanted her sacrifices and suffering to be known and acknowledged.

His stories tapered to a stop, he was a little out of breath, but he also felt relief flush through him. The recipient of his enthusiastic storytelling had long fallen asleep.

Alessio rested his head against the arm of the couch, his expression composed while deep in sleep.

Silvan hadn't expected him to fall asleep, but after the conversations they just shared, he had a more favorable opinion of the Vampire Prince. He couldn't let Alessio sleep on his couch, it hardly seemed comfortable, and he doubted he would be able to get even a wink of sleep with the Vampire only a few meters away.

So he rose to his feet and gently shook the Vampire awake, "You should go to bed."

Alessio opened bleary gray eyes, and stared up at him like he couldn't recognize him. "W-What?"

"Go to bed," Silvan repeated, slowly this time to better help the sleepy Vampire understand.

It seemed to work because Alessio rose to his feet, but the Vampire didn't head for the door, instead, he walked deeper into the room and crawled onto the bed, rolling over to his back and instantly falling fast asleep.

Silvan was floored by this display, he could see himself becoming friends with Alessio in the not-so-distant future, but sharing a bed was completely off limits.

He sighed as he took off his waistcoat, his cravat long discarded. With Alessio in his bed, he had no other choice but to take the Vampire's bed. He wasn't interested in sharing a room with him either, he was only irked because he had wanted to take a bath before bed, but it seemed like it would have to wait until the next day.

Silvan opened the door to Alessio's room and paused, wondering if he could just take a spare room instead. He peered in, it really was similar to his. With another sigh, he stepped in and headed for the bed, it was just for tonight. It was already quite late, dawn was only a few hours away.

He merely kicked off his shoes, his crown already discarded alongside his cravat, and got on the bed in his clothes. Silvan doubted he would be able to get a wink of sleep in Alessio's bed, but he didn't mind much, he hoped to organize his thoughts.

The scent of jasmine seemed to come from the sheets he was lying on, the rich floral scent made him sink deeper into the bed, his hyperactive thoughts trailing off merely a few minutes after laying down. He didn't even remember to draw the drapes, fast asleep in no time.

The next morning, Queen Nadia made her way to the wing where Silvan and Alessio had their rooms. She wanted to check on the two of them, and also inform Silvan that his family would be leaving soon so he could say his goodbyes.

She went to Silvan's room first, if the human Prince was still asleep for whatever reason, she wanted to give him ample time to prepare before it was time for the Royal Family of Asten to take their leave.

She knocked gingerly on the door, she knew that Silvan had remained at the grand hall until quite late so she wouldn't be too surprised if he was still asleep, she would rather not wake him if she could help it. Nadia gingerly opened the door and poked her head in, seeing a figure on the bed. That was enough for her to silently dematerialize in, her eyes bulging at the sight of none other than her son in Silvan's bed.
