Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Broken Oaths And Divine Retribution.

The Hall of Shattered Promises

Two figures stood at the center of the hall, their presence bending reality around them. One was Dainen, the chief of the supreme armies and ruler of the war faction . His muscles were like mountains, his eyes burned like twin suns, and his voice was the roar a titan. The other was Kazima, clad in golden robe forged from the remains of war. His smile was calm, but his eyes held the darkness of the void.

Around them, the gods, titans, and celestial beings watched in silence. None dared to speak. None dared to move. The tension was so heavy it could crush worlds.

 Dainen's Wrath

Dainen took a step forward. The ground beneath him began to crack, cracks spreading like spiderwebs across the hall's floor. His voice was not just sound—it was a force of nature, shaking the very foundations of the hall.

"I HAVE LISTENED TO YOUR WORDS, KAZIMA," he thundered. "YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO OUR KING. YOU HAVE SPOKEN TO US. BUT YOUR TIME IS RUNNING OUT."

The name Kazima dripped from his lips like poison. The air grew colder. The light dimmed, as if the universe itself was afraid of what would come next.

"OUR QUEEN SHOWED YOU MERCY," Dainen continued, his voice a growl. "SHE SPARED YOUR LIFE. BUT DO NOT THINK THAT MEANS YOU ARE SAFE. HER KINDNESS IS NOT WEAKNESS."

He paused, letting his words sink in. The silence was deafening.

Then, with a voice like the end of all things, he spoke his final warning:

"THE NEXT TIME WE MEET… YOU WILL DIE."

 Kazima's Smile

For a moment, there was nothing but silence.

 Then—Kazima smiled.

It was not the smile of a man who feared death. It was not the smile of a fool who did not understand his fate. No, this was the smile of something ancient, something that had seen the birth and death of countless worlds.

His golden robe pulsed with light. His eyes held the secrets of the cosmos.

And when he spoke, his voice was not loud—but it carried the weight of a thousand collapsing galaxies.

 "YOUR FATHERS MADE A PROMISE."

The words hung in the air like a curse.

"BILLIONS OF YEARS AGO, THEY SWORE AN OATH TO EVERY RACE IN EXISTENCE. THEY PROMISED THAT POWER WOULD BE SHARED. THAT NO ONE WOULD BE ENSLAVED. THAT EACH RACE WOULD RULE IN ITS TURN."

The shadows around him twisted, reaching out like living things. The air grew heavy with the scent of forgotten wars.

 "BUT THEY BROKE THAT PROMISE."

The words fell like a hammer, shattering the silence.

 Carel's Confusion

Among the gathered gods stood Carel, a young god who had stumbled into this war of titans. His heart pounded in his chest. His hands trembled. The ground beneath him no longer felt solid—it was like quicksand, pulling him deeper into truths too vast to understand.

"I… I DO NOT UNDERSTAND," Carel whispered, his voice fragile. "KAZIMA, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?"

Kazima turned to him. In his eyes, Carel saw the birth of stars and the silence of their graves.

"THE RULERS DID NOT CREATE THE VERSES ALONE," Kazima said, his voice now a chorus of a million souls. "WE ALL DID. THE GODS. THE ANGELS. THE UNKNOWNS. THE VOIDS. THE ABYSS. THE TITANS. THE DEMONS. TOGETHER, WE BUILT EVERYTHING."

He paused, letting the truth sink in.

"AND FOR THAT SACRIFICE, WE MADE A COVENANT. EVERY ONE HUNDRED MILLION YEARS, THE THRONE WOULD PASS TO ANOTHER RACE. IT WAS A PROMISE OF BALANCE. A PROMISE OF JUSTICE."

A bitter laugh escaped his lips.

"WE LET THE RULERS SIT UPON THE THRONE TWICE. ONCE, FOR UNITING US. TWICE, OUT OF RESPECT. BUT WHEN IT WAS OUR TURN—WHEN THE GODS WERE TO RISE—THEY BETRAYED US."

The memory twisted his face into something dark and furious.

"THEY PITTED US AGAINST EACH OTHER. THEY WHISPERED LIES TO THE ANGELS, TELLING THEM WE WANTED TO ENSLAVE THEM. THEY WHISPERED TO US THAT THE ANGELS PLOTTED TO STEAL THE THRONE. AND SO… WE FELL INTO THEIR TRAP."

Above them, the sky wept. Dark clouds swirled like mourners at a funeral.

"THE WAR OF ANGELS AND GODS BEGAN THREE HUNDRED BILLION YEARS AGO," Kazima said, his voice heavy with sorrow. "IT ENDED ONLY THIRTY THOUSAND YEARS AGO. AND THROUGH IT ALL—THE RULERS WATCHED. THEY LAUGHED. THEY REIGNED."

The hall was silent once more. The weight of Kazima's words pressed down on every soul present. The truth had been spoken. The war was not over.

And the gods would have their vengeance.
