Obito fell into deep thought.
Even though your explanation was full of holes, in the end, you're just a three-year-old child with powerful dōjutsu—a child nonetheless. Overlooking the finer details, the core logic of your words still held up.
[Day 4]
Having gotten the answers he wanted, Obito left satisfied.
Not long after, he returned with some food and water. Seeing the way you devoured everything with gratitude on your face, he gave a pleased nod. Then, he collected the bodies of Uchiha Setsuna and Granny Yukina and took them along with the large chest out of the Kamui space.
The swirl of White Zetsu that had been clinging to your body to keep you alive and heal your wounds was taken away as well.
But you'd already taken advantage of the pain and struggle caused by awakening your Sharingan earlier to claw off some small chunks of flesh from White Zetsu's body using your fingernails.
Your body was still recovering, your Sharingan spinning at high speed, and your Strength and Spirit were completely drained. You had no energy left to act or even think. All you could do was lie weakly on the stone platform, staring up at the boundless, pitch-black sky.
Soon, Obito returned again, though it seemed he had only come to check your condition. Once he confirmed you weren't in any immediate danger, he prepared to leave.
Just before he stepped through the vortex, you called out to him softly:
"Obito… I can't wait to see the world after the Eye of the Moon Plan is complete…"
Just as the swirl of Kamui was about to close, you heard a faint but certain reply.
...
Not long after, your Sharingan finally stopped spinning. In that instant, your dōjutsu power surged. You quickly sat up and, using the dim, sourceless light of the Kamui space, examined your reflection in a puddle of blood on the floor.
After a close look, your heart sank.
You were still just at the two-tomoe stage.
Even though your power had grown significantly, there had been no qualitative change. You hadn't even broken through to the third tomoe, let alone the Mangekyō Sharingan!
You began to wonder if you were just a cold-hearted person.
Maybe you really were. Even in the face of the brutal deaths of those closest to you, you had been able to stay calm and strategize.
If that was the case… then you decided to stop concerning yourself with emotions altogether and focus only on immediate survival.
Since you were still at the two-tomoe level, it was impossible to activate Mangekyō techniques. Once Obito returned, he would immediately realize he'd been deceived.
And then… you'd be dead for sure.
At this point, you had no choice but to retrieve the two silver scrolls you'd hidden in the inner lining of your clothes. Using the dim light, you began to examine them.
[Day 5]
You discovered that the scrolls Setsuna left you before his death were of immense importance.
One of them was titled Mangekyō Sharingan Transplantation Technique. It detailed the method of transplanting Mangekyō Sharingan between blood relatives, how to fuse the dōjutsu after transplantation, and even included documented cases dating back to the early Warring States era. It described in full how Uchiha Madara had transplanted his brother's Mangekyō.
At the end of the scroll, there were even some speculative notes from Uchiha elders regarding Mangekyō transplants between non-relatives. However, due to the rarity of Mangekyō users and the unacceptable loss of elite clan members, no such case had ever been attempted.
You speculated that before slaughtering the Uchiha Clan, Obito must have found Uchiha Setsuna—very likely for the sake of this scroll.
Next, you opened the second scroll and discovered it was Setsuna's personal research notes.
It chronicled his obsession with awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan, the numerous attempts and repeated failures, and was filled with self-loathing and rants against his clan for their incompetence.
Half the scroll was laced with sharp-tongued sarcasm and curse-laden complaints.
But in the second half, Setsuna began researching sealing techniques. He seemed to have found inspiration from the sealing methods leaked after the downfall of the Uzumaki Clan. His goal was to artificially create a Mangekyō, using the three-tomoe Sharingan as a foundation and enhancing it through seals.
Starting with the "Transcription Seal," he began obsessively sealing various jutsu into his own eyes.
In the end, he even stole two three-tomoe Sharingan from the clan's ancestral shrine and tried to seal their dōjutsu power into his own eyes!
Every attempt ended in failure.
However, Setsuna noticed that his own dōjutsu strength had somehow begun to slowly exceed the limits of the three-tomoe Sharingan. It was growing… ever so gradually.
And then you arrived, carrying the Sharingan from the future.
At the very end of the scroll, in still-wet ink, a single line was scrawled:
I succeeded.
Though the ink had smudged the surrounding writing, nothing could hide the excitement in that final message.
...
Just then, the Kamui space swirled once more.
You hurriedly stuffed Setsuna's notebook back into your clothes and lay prone on the floor, studying the Mangekyō Sharingan Transplantation Technique scroll as if engrossed.
Obito approached, dropped off a small portion of food, snatched up the scroll, and left again.
As the vortex swirled and closed behind him, you let out a breath of relief.
Thankfully, Obito had been too distracted by the scroll to notice that your eyes still only had two tomoe.
You opened the bento box and found only two tiny rice balls and a piece of salted fish. Not even a drop of water.
Just enough to keep you alive… but not enough to give you any real strength.
You couldn't help but speculate: it wouldn't be long before Obito went after Uchiha Itachi.
He was starving you to keep you weak, to prevent you from interfering at a crucial moment. The salted fish would only dehydrate you faster. In a few more days, he might even stop feeding you altogether.
[Day 6]
You lay still on the floor with your eyes closed, appearing weak and drained from hunger.
In truth, you were secretly practicing the Bloodline Meditation Technique—but to anyone watching, it looked like you were just wasting away.
Just as you expected, Obito only glanced at you when he entered, then left again without bringing anything—not even a drop of water.
Luckily, you'd hidden the piece of salted fish under your body in advance, and half a rice ball was still tucked away in your left sleeve.
[Day 7]
You ate the half rice ball stashed in your sleeve, then continued cultivating the Bloodline Meditation Technique, using what little time and energy you had left to sharpen your Spirit and dōjutsu power.
Obito came to check on you again. After seeing your weakened, dehydrated body, he stayed a moment, then left without a word.
[Day 8]
You were abruptly awakened from sleep.
Obito questioned you about his odds of defeating Uchiha Itachi.
You lowered your head, eyes half-lidded, and spoke in a low, steady tone:
"As long as you wait until Uchiha Itachi activates his Susanoo… and then simultaneously use Kamui and the Transcription Seal, you can absorb the Totsuka Blade and make it your own."
"Without the Totsuka Blade… Uchiha Itachi's strength won't amount to much."
You explained the use of Kamui and the Transcription Seal in such detailed and confident terms—beyond even Obito's own understanding—that combined with his own biases and expectations, he became visibly excited.
Without hesitation, he left the Kamui space again.
...
You knew your psychological ploy had worked. Obito would now engage in a life-or-death battle with Uchiha Itachi.
And that battle… would come either today or tomorrow.
After Obito left, you swiftly pulled out the dried salted fish you'd hidden behind your back and devoured it, washing it down with the still-wet blood from the ground to rehydrate and regain strength.
You vaguely felt your Sharingan heating up—but there were no signs of awakening.
You told yourself it must be a hallucination, born from your desperate desire to awaken the Mangekyō.
Sitting upright on the stone platform, you calmly awaited the coming battle…
