Chapter 9 - Helvìte

The Eye of Brahma Project

Karma Type → Positive

Ability → Eternal Pureness

Kal was jumping around the room, excitement shining in his eyes.

"What does it give me—fire power, super strength? Can I summon a beast? What can I do?"

Ashoka crossed his arms and spoke with quiet confidence.

"Your ability is Eternal Pureness. Because of this, your karma will never change. It will always remain positive."

"Wait, what?" Kal exclaimed, his face turning pale as if he had seen a ghost.

"That means... I can't use karma in battle!"

Kal's voice trembled.

"No, no, no... This can't be," he whispered.

"I'm just useless... There's nothing I can do. I'm just an idiot," he muttered, sitting down in the corner of the room.

"Kal, why are you crying? Please stop. Look, I'm not crying, even after learning about my mother's death... and that I was the one who killed my father," Robert said, trying to motivate him.

"I realized that crying is just useless. Please, Kal—we'll train ourselves, become great, and master our abilities."

Ashoka smiled quietly as he watched them.

Hm... Just as I thought.

"Liza, what's your ability?" Robert asked.

"But why... why do you want to know?" Liza replied.

"Don't be shy. I know it's not a good ability... but still," Robert teased her with a smirk.

Liza clenched her fist and snapped,

"Yes, you're right, you moron!"

Then she landed a punch on Robert's head.

"Liza, it hurts!" Robert cried, holding his head.

"Just look at me, you moron," she said sharply.

The atmosphere in the room shifted, becoming warmer.

Robert took a step back.

Liza was floating in the air—even her hair was suspended, drifting like silk.

"Advanced Karma," she declared.

The room filled with a red aura.

"What the hell is happening?" Kal whispered, backing away, his voice trembling.

Sparks danced around Liza's body.

As if by magic, the aura began forming shapes in the air. The shapes grew clearer—it was a trident!

The aura twisted, condensed, and solidified.

"A trident?" Kal furrowed his brows in confusion.

Robert rubbed his eyes.

"I can't believe what I'm seeing," he whispered in disbelief.

Slowly, the atmosphere returned to normal.

Robert and Kal stared, wide-eyed, at Liza.

"This is the power of her ability: Advanced Karma. It grants her the power to manipulate karma into forms—or to change the form of any material through karma," Ashoka explained.

"So... she can turn karma into objects?" Kal asked.

"Wow," Kal muttered. "Such a cool ability."

His voice trembled. "And mine is just... healing. I want to be a warrior, but now I'm just a freaking... doctor."

Ashoka gently rubbed Kal's head.

"Don't cry, my child. I've seen so many people wishing for positive karma, but their fate differs from their desires. You were given Eternal Pureness. Please don't waste your potential."

"What the hell is that?!" Robert suddenly shouted.

Hearing his scream, Kal and Ashoka rushed toward the garden where Robert and Liza were.

"What happened, Robert?" Kal asked, concerned.

"Whose horse is that?" Robert asked, confused.

Liza crossed her arms and looked at Robert coldly.

"Are you a dumbass or a moron? This is why you screamed in front of me? It's Sleipnir, you idiot."

Robert's mind was utterly shocked.

"That scary horse of Arunakreon... But how?" he exclaimed.

Ashoka stepped forward, dusting off his clothes.

"I purified it using my ability: Purification," he declared, closing his eyes.

When he opened them, Robert was still staring at the horse.

"What a beautiful horse. I can't stop looking at it," Robert said, rubbing his eyes.

"So, you didn't hear a word I said..." Ashoka sighed.

Kal stepped forward.

"Guru Ashoka, I have a question," he said.

"Yes, my child. Let your curiosity speak."

"Liza told me she was the one who hid this mountain from the rest of the world. Was that your command?" he asked.

"Yes, my child. It was my order. You could say... it was a request," Ashoka replied.

"But why?" Kal asked, furrowing his brows.

"There are three reasons," Ashoka said.

Kal tilted his head.

"If one of them is the divine tools, then what are the other two?"

"Yes, you're right again," Ashoka nodded.

Liza frowned in confusion.

"Grandpa, what are you talking about? I thought we were protecting this place because of the divine tools."

Ashoka exhaled slowly and sat down on a chair.

"When you were a baby, your father discovered the Book of Vasuki inside a cave in this mountain. And your mother discovered a mine of Karmanite—the metal that can conduct karma energy."

"My parents found those? So those are the two reasons—for protecting the book and the mine?" Liza asked.

"Not exactly. Just like a coin has two sides... the mine has another side to its story," Ashoka said.

"What do you mean?" Kal asked, brows knitting.

Ashoka looked directly at them.

"Because Karmanite only emerges where a Karma user dies."

Liza took a step back.
