Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: E-Rantel Graveyard

"Boom, boom, boom!"

Light and shadow flickered within the massive energy barrier, and terrifying tremors spread throughout the central city of E-Rantel. A large section of the city wall on the western side had been destroyed by powerful magic long before the barrier even appeared. Fortunately, because this area was directly connected to the E-Rantel Cemetery and contained no residential houses or military facilities, there were no casualties.

The city guard forces had immediately reported the news to the guard post and city hall. Mayor Panasolei Rauch Veyron and Warrior Captain Gazef Stronoff arrived at the city gate by carriage ten minutes later, accompanied by personnel sent from the Adventurer's Guild and the Magic Caster's Guild.

"This!?"

Panasolei stopped at the western gate, staring at the huge barrier in front of him that continued to explode and rumble, and cold sweat broke out on his forehead uncontrollably. Although the flow of the barrier's energy prevented anyone from clearly seeing what was happening inside, they could roughly guess that a fierce battle was taking place just by listening to the sounds and combining them with the intelligence about the pursued magic caster reported by the guards earlier.

But... could sounds of fighting like this be caused by humans?

"This should be that person's power. Exactly the same as what I saw last time." Gazef, standing nearby, spoke to the others with a confident tone.

Mayor Panasolei, Adventurer's Guild Master Ainzach, and Magic Caster's Guild Master Rakshir all looked at him, and at the same time, they were surprised and suddenly realized something. They had previously learned about the Undead named Ainz Ooal Gown, so they certainly knew who Gazef meant by "that person." If it truly was that person, then no matter how loud the sounds were, it didn't seem unacceptable. What they wondered was who the person currently fighting was. Could it be the Undead from before? It wasn't impossible that the pursuit had started in the cemetery.

The battle continued. At that moment, a commotion arose among the City Guard forces tasked with preparing the encirclement, which drew the attention of the four.

"Who are you!?" Gazef turned his head, and with the help of the magic lamps with [Eternal Light] installed on the city gate, he roughly saw the person confronting the guards.

Is that them? As the thought crossed his mind, Gazef shouted to the guards not far away, "They are my friends, let them in!"

When the guards heard his command, they stopped trying to obstruct and allowed the group to pass through the encirclement. There were seven people among them, all wearing exceptionally splendid equipment. They were none other than the seven members of the Black Scripture. Due to the captain's special status, the person in charge of negotiations was Quaiesse Hazeia Quintia, the 5th Seat, also known as the "One Man Army." He nodded at Gazef and said, "Sir Stronoff."

"Yes," Gazef also responded politely, then asked, "Why are you all here?"

"With such a commotion, it's hard for us not to notice." Quaiesse shrugged, then said with a serious face: "In fact, we just inspected the E-Rantel Cemetery, and there, we found the people who attacked us before."

Gazef narrowed his eyes slightly. Although the Black Scripture and the others claimed to be merely administrative staff of The Slane Theocracy, judging from the weapons and equipment they wore, they must be affiliated with The Slane Theocracy's secret force - the Six-Colored Scripture. He had heard previously that another group of people attacked them. Since they dared to defy The Slane Theocracy, they must be extraordinary individuals. Thinking of the information just reported by the city guards, Gazef had a bad premonition in his mind.

"You're thinking it too?" Quaiesse seemed to notice the change in Gazef's expression. He smiled helplessly, then turned to look at the energy barrier outside the city and said slowly, "The people fighting that ruler now should be the ones we encountered in the cemetery before. Their strength is probably not much different from the Undead last time."

Gazef frowned upon hearing this. The matter of Ainz Ooal Gown was already concerning. If what Quaiesse said was true, a mysterious man as powerful as Ainz had established a secret base in the E-Rantel Cemetery, and he worried he had ulterior motives. The most difficult thing was that the entire E-Rantel government had no way to counter them.

What is wrong with this New World? Why are so many monster-level beings suddenly appearing? For a moment, Gazef felt as if he was being left behind by the currents of the times, and grew increasingly worried about the future of the Re-Estize Kingdom.

Super-Tier Magic

Time continued to pass, the rumbling and tremors never ceasing, until at some point, the gigantic energy barrier slowly began to thin and become transparent. The crisp sound of shattering glass could faintly be heard, and under everyone's gaze, several human figures floated in the sky. Due to the excessive distance, the forms of most of the shadows could not be clearly seen. There was only one person, his entire body surrounded by a holy golden light, displaying an extraordinarily sacred posture even in the darkness.

A glimmer of respect appeared in the eyes of Gazef and the people of the Black Scripture. Not only as a form of reverence for the adult's power, but also as a form of gratitude to the savior.

The next second, an incredibly complex magic array unfolded from the adult's body, and all the magic casters witnessing this sight were stunned.

"Is this... the legendary Super-Tier Magic?" Four Great Spirits (the 3rd Seat member of the Black Scripture), the eldest magic caster in the Black Scripture, widened his eyes, his entire body trembling slightly, and he couldn't help but exclaim in a low voice.

As we know, magic tiers range from First Tier to Tenth Tier. However, as a high-ranking official of The Slane Theocracy, he had the honor of learning from the head priest that there was even stronger magic above Tenth Tier. Legend said that this was the ultimate magic that could only be used by the Six Great Gods, especially Surshana, the God of Death worshipped by The Slane Theocracy. It was a realm that only truly powerful gods could reach!

The Black Scripture members around him heard his exclamation and were about to ask about the term "Super-Tier Magic" which they had never heard before, when another astonishing change occurred in the sky. Dazzling white light filled the entire sky, and destructive energy with a wide area of effect fell from the heavens and bombarded the ground like an apocalypse.

The attack boundary was less than 20 meters from the city gate where Gazef and the others were. A storm-like airflow continuously blew everyone backward, and only a few warriors with good physical strength were able to stand firm.

"What is this? What is this?!"

"Is this God's punishment?!"

"Quick... Run!"

Panicked shouts and chaotic, fearful footsteps intermingled, and the entire city gate suddenly descended into chaos. The shaky city guards scrambled like ants in a hot pan.

Fortunately, the terrifying attack did not last long and vanished without a trace after about five seconds. Then, a massive circular crater of indeterminate diameter appeared before everyone. Almost all the trees that had originally been in this area disappeared, the ground surface was scorched black, and some parts had crystallized after being burned at high temperatures.

Under the gaze of Gazef and the others, the adult surrounded by holy light slowly descended from the sky, as if picking something up from the scorched earth, then vanished with the two figures beside him.
