Chapter 60 - Derick: Am I Attacking Myself?

"The final vessel?" Castorice looked at Tribbie, wanting to know what she meant.

"Little Castie, the power of the Strife Titan throughout Amphoreus doesn't just exist in its Core Flame. There's a lot of free-floating Strife Titan energy in other places and among those affiliated with it," Tribbie said while thinking.

"If the Core Flame is gone, that Nikador energy in the air will unconsciously gather due to an emotion similar to our human fear. And Little Derick, he obtained the energy from the Blade of Scourge, which is much greater than other energies. That Nikador energy, thinking it's safe here, will naturally be drawn to him."

Derick never imagined that Tribbie would offer such an explanation.

However, after carefully considering it, he found that what she said wasn't entirely baseless.

The energy in his body didn't entirely come from what his clone absorbed and then distributed to his main body. There was indeed a lot of free-floating energy that entered his body and became his own.

The only thing Tribbie got wrong was the initial source of his energy. But that was also due to the incorrect information he had given her.

"Derry-boo, looking at your expression, is what Lady Tribbie said true?" Hyacine asked, noticing Derick's expression.

Derick nodded.

"That's right, Sister Tribbie isn't wrong. I can indeed feel the energy in the air converging towards my body."

Tribbie patted her chest and said to Derick and Castorice, "In that case, Little Castie doesn't have to worry about Little Derick's physical condition. He's just experiencing a sudden increase in energy right now; he'll get used to it later. This energy will only be beneficial to his body."

Hearing that this increased energy would not only not harm Derick but would actually enhance his strength, Castorice's heart was put at ease.

Cipher patted Derick's shoulder, "Derry, I didn't expect your strength could still increase. It looks like I should educate you more on the benefits of being a thief."

Castorice's heart tensed up again, and she silently moved closer to Cipher.

Cipher could only dodge.

Aglaea looked at Tribbie and continued to ask, "Then, my master, is it possible for Derick to..."

"Aglaea, are you wondering if Little Derick can become stronger through his own power, thereby achieving the rebirth of the Strife Titan's Core Flame, allowing him to become a demigod as well?"

Derick was stunned.

What? I still have a chance to become a demigod?

A complex look appeared in Castorice's and Cipher's eyes.

Tribbie continued, "There is this chance, but the possibility is very low. Firstly, the free-floating Nikador energy is definitely not enough. To make the energy in his body sufficient, we must deal with that pitch-black humanoid monster. Moreover, even if we deal with that pitch-black monster and make the energy in Little Derick's body sufficient, enough energy doesn't mean he can become a new Titan."

"Sufficient energy doesn't mean he can become a demigod."

If having enough energy meant one could become a demigod, a Titan, then Okhema certainly wouldn't have only Aglaea and Tribios as its demigods.

Aglaea closed her eyes and then said slowly, "Then we must proceed. Regardless of whether Derick can become a new demigod, we must at least eliminate that pitch-black monster first, and then let Derick absorb that pitch-black monster."

As Aglaea said this, she looked at Derick.

"Derick, you may still need to increase your strength during this time. If necessary, it would be best if you could personally deal with that monster. That way, you can absorb it at the first opportunity."

"Yes, Lady Aglaea, I understand."

Hearing Aglaea's words, Derick felt a very strange sensation in his heart.

Dealing with myself personally.

This was truly awkward.

...

Derick and the others left after seeing that there was nothing else going on.

Derick's body was still burning hot. Even though he knew there was no problem, it was best to go back and rest for a while to wait for his body temperature to stabilize.

Once again, only Tribbie and Aglaea remained in the Vortex of Creation.

Tribbie looked at Aglaea, and a smile actually appeared on her lips.

"My master, what is the meaning of your smile?" Aglaea asked, looking at Tribbie's smile with confusion.

"It's been a long time since I've seen Aglaea show such normal human emotions."

Tribbie said with a grin.

"My master, please don't joke anymore. The Flamechase Journey has encountered such a huge problem now, I'm still full of confusion about the future."

A bitter smile appeared on Aglaea's lips.

"Aglaea, things will always be resolved. Constantly frowning will only make things a mess. Aglaea, why don't you take this time to have a good bath, and then a nice sleep. That way, when you wake up, perhaps an unexpected surprise will come along."

Tribbie reached out and took Aglaea's hand.

"Let's go, Aglaea. Although I can't accompany you in the bath, I can still keep you company while you bathe."

"Alright, my master."

Aglaea finally followed Tribbie to the Heroes' Bath for a good soak.

Having been on the Flamechase Journey for so long, this was the first time she had felt such panic. She really needed to rest and recuperate now.

...

Outside the Marmoreal Palace, Cipher looked at Derick and couldn't help but remind him, "Derry, let me remind you, don't be in a hurry to absorb those energies. If you don't become the demigod of Strife in a day, this Flamechase Journey can't proceed for a day. As long as the Flamechase Journey doesn't proceed for a day, then Castorice doesn't have to consider becoming a demigod. And most, most, most importantly, I myself won't have to face my destiny."

Cipher was initially shocked by the disappearance of the Strife Titan, but after the shock, she became happy again.

If the Strife Titan is gone, how can the Flamechase Journey continue?

"This matter still depends on Derick's own decision," Castorice said, looking at Cipher.

However, her eyes also held a complex expression.

She wasn't sure whether she should let Derick do as Aglaea said.

"Let's not think too much about it for now." Derick took Castorice's hand.

Right now, the most crucial thing was another matter.

"What matter?" Cipher asked Derick.

"Of course, it's going back to rest." Derick pointed to his still burning cheek. "If I stay any longer, I feel like I'm about to faint."

Although his body was hot, Derick was still far from fainting. The main reason he said this was to check on his clone's current situation.

It had been so long since he absorbed Nikador's clone; it was time for it to get some activity.
