Chapter 30 - Zombie Land

A week ago, Old Man Blacksmith and Pepe followed the tracks of the military vehicle that took the brothers away. They ended up in a military base.

Old Man Blacksmith reunited with General Bobby, and they were welcomed into the base.

General Bobby gave a tour of the base. Without them knowing, they walked past the room keeping the brothers. General Bobby asked where Old Man Blacksmith had been.

Old Man Blacksmith answered that he left the life of war to live a life of solitude.

Throughout the tour, Pepe was intrigued by the place.

General Bobby requested for Old Man Blacksmith's help in the war.

Old Man Blacksmith emphasized that he was retired.

General Bobby explained that Stribora would lose the war as the zombies were adapting to fight with weapons.

Old Man Blacksmith was surprised, and he questioned the truthfulness of the statement.

General Bobby replied that it was the truth.

At the same time, Pepe was fascinated by a keypad, and he pressed the buttons.

Old Man Blacksmith conceded and accepted his request.

General Bobby entered a meeting room and motioned them to sit down. He explained that throughout the days, they scouted different locations to locate Zombie Queen.

Fortunately, a spy found the zombies' main base being constructed in a cliff.

Beside the entrance, there was a giant, wobbly ladder where zombies took turns sculpting Zombie Queen's face.

The spy tried to escape as zombies chased him away.

A zombie dove and bit into his leg.

The spy fell down, and he ended up killed by the zombies.

Still, General Bobby received the spy's final memories, and he knew of Zombie Queen's whereabouts.

After informing his superiors, armies would try to invade, but they would be defeated before they could get to the main base. The mission was handed to General Bobby.

In the meeting room, General Bobby smirked and realized that the zombie commanders, Toddler Zombie Prince and Toddler Zombie Princess, were at play. Thus, he sent Old Man Blacksmith with his apprentice, Pepe, to slay them. He also sent half of his army to assist.

In the battle, Pepe fought without his sword.

Toddler Zombie Prince ripped an officer in half and chewed him.

With his touch, Pepe electrocuted Toddler Zombie Prince. Then, he threw a rock, created in the air, at him.

In the meantime, Toddler Zombie Princess stabbed an officer with her strands of hair and drooled as she ate another officer.

During that battle, the brothers escaped the military base. They were never seen again until now.

Now, it was the day after Teen Zombie Prince's death, and Old Man Blacksmith held a meeting with General Bobby, Pepe, Hafen, Matteo, and Stark.

General Bobby divulged that his next orders from his superior were to capture the zombies' main base, aka Zombie Land.

Old man Blacksmith nodded and explained that there were at least three zombie commanders left, and two of them were likely stationed there. He continued that they were Zombie Queen and Zombie King, and that without them, the zombies would be confused.

Hafen was suspicious. He questioned how they were so sure. He inquired if General Bobby and Old Man Blacksmith were hiding something.

Old Man Blacksmith sighed and claimed that one of the commanders was an old friend of his.

General Bobby and Old Man Blacksmith exchanged looks.

Stark wondered who the third commander was.

Pepe looked down and remained silent.

Matteo pointed out that Pepe had been silent the whole meeting, and he was wondering why.

Old Man Blacksmith explained that he would explain the identity of the third commander later.

General Bobby agreed and outlined a plan to defeat the commanders.

Matteo frowned and asked why the zombies were at war with the humans.

General Bobby explained that it's a war for control over Stribora. He continued that if they lose, they would be prey and hunted under the zombies' rule. He asserted that if they win, the zombies would be extinct, meaning no longer a threat, and that those were the two extreme stances in this war.

Old Man Blacksmith looked at Stark, and he advised that if the brothers were going to help, then they should not underestimate the strength of the zombie commanders.

Stark reassured that they would stop any threats towards The Sacred Forest.

Soon, the meeting ended.

Pepe stood by the side of the room and faced the wall. He displayed his new powers. He was able to create rocks, water, electricity, and leaves out of thin air.

Matteo pointed it out. Stark, Matteo, and Hafen watched in awe.

Impressed, Stark asked Old Man Blacksmith if he could teach them, as well.

However, Old Man Blacksmith confessed that he did not know how, and that his first apprentice learned how to herself, as well.

Hafen looked at Pepe in confusion.

Pepe admitted that when he woke up after being knocked out by Zombie Queen, his elemental spear disappeared, and he unlocked his new powers.

Just then, the door creaked open, and a small head peeked inside. It was a little boy.

General Bobby asked the little boy to sit.

Stark asked who he was.

General Bobby revealed that the little boy was his son, Bob, and that he will revise their strategy.

Hafen questioned General Bobby's decision.

In a turn of events, Bob started highlighting all the faults with their plan. He suggested to send more helicopters to cover the area and that they should be ready for the third possible commander.

Old Man Blacksmith assured that the third commander should not be there.

Bob narrowed his eyes and claimed that they will be there.

Everyone was surprised.

General Bobby admitted that although he may be the renowned strategist, the new generation definitely surpassed their predecessors.

Matteo commented that Bob might be smarter than Hafen.

Hafen was annoyed.

Still, Bob sternly asserted that there was a problem. He continued that there was no guarantee that they would be successful in their battles because there was a lack of information regarding the enemy.

That night, General Bobby's Army prepared and camped nearby the zombies' main base. The following morning, they prepared for battle. A scouting party returned and reported about the area to General Bobby.

Before the battle, General Bobby gave out a speech. In the speech, he valiantly declared the battle to be a battle that will decide the future of Stribora. As they marched, they saw the main base in the distance.

It looked like a fortress built in a cliff. Zombie Queen was sculpted with Zombie Land written beside it. The entrance was covered by artillery.

Seeing as it being the only way inside, General Bobby ordered his officers to bombard the artillery equipment.

Zombies were startled, and the ones on the artillery equipment started shooting back. Bodies from both sides flew into the air.

At the same time, Old Man Blacksmith, Pepe, Hafen, Matteo, and Stark were deployed by General Bobby, and they flanked the zombies.

General Bobby roared that they would prevail.

The brothers, Pepe, and Old Man Blacksmith rushed through the battlefield. While they fought, they made it to the entrance.

There were dozens of zombies guarding the entrance, and they were being shot at by the soldiers. Some of them charged towards the flankers.

Old Man Blacksmith cut through the zombie swarm, and the brothers shot the zombies with their elemental guns.

Pepe ran past the zombie horde and destroyed a large catapult.

Once the zombies' retaliation stopped, General Bobby ordered his army to cease fire.

The army watched as a giant figure loomed in the smoke.

As the smoke cleared up, General Bobby ordered his army to open fire on the giant figure.

In the smoke, Old Man Blacksmith and his students witnessed every zombie rush inside the base. They chased after them. Suddenly, they glanced as a giant hand grasped the entrance wall.

A giant female zombie ducked to go through the entrance. She wore a crown, and she was covered by zombies that were pleading with her to head inside. She nervously swatted them off her body and noticed that they were being attacked.

As the next wave of bullets was launched towards her, the giant female zombie raised her hand.

All of a sudden, the bullets and tank missiles floated in the air and launched back to the military.

Old Man Blacksmith and Pepe were shocked when they recognized who the giant female zombie was.

As explosions went off course, Old Man Blacksmith muttered the giant female zombie's real name.

As she turned around, the giant female zombie was surprised. She explained that she did not go by that anymore and that she was Teen Zombie Princess. Old Man Blacksmith noticed her sad expression and solemnly stared at her. He reminisced about his first apprentice, Cassandra.

Why was Cassandra in Zombie Land? Why was she a giant female zombie? Why did she call herself a princess of the zombies?
