In the hospital room, the only sound was the soft clinking of cutlery. The grandfather and grandson barely exchanged any words.
The nurse, who was quietly serving food to the old man, found it kind of strange but didn't dare ask anything. After all, these two were powerful figures in Shen City.
Finally, after Old Master Gray had eaten about three-quarters of his meal, he finally spoke up.
"I heard you haven't been staying at the mansion lately?"
"Yeah," Jeffrey replied casually. He wasn't even surprised his grandfather knew. There were always eyes and ears around the mansion.
"Where have you been staying?"
"Outside," Jeffrey answered.
"Why'd you decide to stay outside?" Old Master Gray asked again.
"The mansion feels kinda empty," Jeffrey said calmly, picking up a shrimp and peeling it slowly.
