Rachel remained silent throughout, even when she saw the ugly wounds on her palms. Her expression didn't change at all.
It wasn't until the nurse re-bandaged Rachel's right hand that she winced slightly from the pain, but she didn't make a sound.
"Let me do it. You can go," Jeffrey said to the nurse.
The nurse respectfully left the room. Jeffrey took the bandage and carefully wrapped it around Rachel's right hand.
His movements were gentle and cautious, almost making her hand feel no pain.
After he finished, he put down the bandage. "For the next few days, try not to use your right hand. And don't clench your fist like you did earlier. How much more blood do you want to lose?"
She looked at the bandage he had wrapped. The knot was neat. "You seem pretty good at this."
A shadow passed through his eyes. "I learned a bit of bandaging when I was young."
Back then, his father was always searching for his mother, running around everywhere.
