"These glowing dots… they represent members of our division?"
"Yes. And based on the size and brightness of each dot, we can estimate their overall strength."
"What about other things, like that warship nearby?"
"Captain, the Observation Haki Radar currently can only detect living beings…"
"...Ah, I see."
So it's the complete opposite of how he imagined radar would work.
But then again, it didn't really matter.
After all, unless it was a ghost ship, how could any ship be completely uncrewed?
And as long as there were people aboard, this radar could detect them. In some ways, that made it even more useful than the standard radar on Danaan.
Of course, having both types of radar in the future would be ideal.
"By the way, how far can this radar detect?"
Luo Lan asked again, curious.
"Captain, it depends on the individual. The current amplification rate is twelve times. So if your Observation Haki covers two kilometers, the radar will cover 24 kilometers."
Ah, so that's how it works...
First, you need to have awakened Observation Haki.
Then, if your Observation Haki is weak, the coverage remains limited.
Which means—the range of this Haki Radar is only as good as the user's base level.
Twelve times, huh…
If that guy from Skypiea used it, wouldn't it cover several hundred kilometers?
Looks like when he eventually visits Skypiea, it won't just be for the gold or Enel's Devil Fruit—he'll need to learn their "Mantra" training methods too.
"Luo Lan, these two warships… one of them's mine, right?"
As Luo Lan was lost in thoughts about Skypiea, Smoker couldn't hold it in anymore.
In his mind, if Hina had one, surely the other was for him?
But Luo Lan just looked at him quietly.
"Smoker, have you awakened Haki yet?"
"Not yet."
"Then what are you talking about? Didn't Seras just explain that you can't use this radar without Observation Haki?"
Luo Lan threw him a direct jab.
Honestly, you're the most embarrassing person in the 157th Division. And to think you graduated the same year as Hina.
Look at Ace—he didn't even know what Haki was before, and yet he awakened it just a few days ago.
And you?
You've known about Haki for ten… twenty years, and still haven't awakened it.
Shameful!
"But even if that one's out of the question, the other ship doesn't have that radar thing either, does it?"
Smoker countered.
"Temporarily! Remember, it's only temporarily not installed."
"Oh, and even the Danaan is technically my personal ship. You're only borrowing it for missions."
"Bottom line—until you awaken Haki, you don't get a personal ride!"
Smoker felt like collapsing.
"So you're giving the other ship to Ian?!"
"Yup!"
"But he hasn't awakened Haki either!"
"Doesn't matter. The radar isn't installed yet anyway, right?"
Ugh…
Smoker had to admit—logically, that made perfect sense.
But something still didn't feel right.
Wait a minute…
That's not what you said to me earlier!
He finally realized the inconsistency and whipped his head around, ready to argue—
Only to find the command deck empty. Luo Lan had vanished.

157th Division – Super Naval Academy.
Inside the Library.
Luo Lan sat in front of a stack of books—dozens of them.
He was flipping through one in particular.
Its title?
"Haki Cultivation: Conqueror's Haki Edition."
"So, whether or not one can awaken Conqueror's Haki is deeply tied to their spiritual strength."
"While everyone is born with varying levels of spiritual power, it can be cultivated. In theory, anyone could awaken Conqueror's Haki…?"
"Wait, that contradicts the original series. It said you either have it from birth or you don't!"
"But if this is from the system's official guidebook, it can't be wrong."
"So..."
"The key is that people in the One Piece world just don't know how to cultivate spiritual strength. So their innate power at birth ends up determining their potential."
"Yeah… that must be it!"
Luo Lan put the book down, deep in thought.
This academy's training material and library… it was far too comprehensive.
In just a few hours, he'd learned so much.
As for spiritual strength—Luo Lan, having lived two lives, naturally had a strong foundation.
Not to mention, his villa came with a passive bonus to spiritual cultivation.
He simply hadn't reached the final trigger yet.
According to the book, strong spiritual power gives the potential, but to actually awaken Conqueror's Haki, a powerful emotional trigger was required.
Much like… those red-eyed ninja clans—one needed intense emotional stimulus.
Just like Luffy's first burst of Conqueror's Haki: when Margaret was about to be smashed to stone.
"But me… where the hell am I supposed to find that kind of trigger?"
"Ugh. This is giving me a headache!"
Just as Luo Lan leaned back in his chair, lost in frustration—
A sudden sword hum rang out.
From one corner of the library, a streak of green sword energy tore through the air—slicing through more than ten bookshelves before fading.
Staring at the destruction across the library floor—
Luo Lan was stunned.
"What the hell just happened?"
He rushed over—and sure enough…
There, lying unconscious on the ground, was a certain green-haired guy in a belly band.
Sword in hand.
Yeah, no need to investigate. It could only be one person.
This guy had clearly had another "epiphany," and like always, immediately drew his sword to test it out—regardless of where he was.
This wasn't even the first time.
Two B-class instructors rushed into the library.
"Captain, what happened here?"
"What else? That idiot had another episode."
Luo Lan said, pointing to Zoro.
"Seriously? Again? That's already the third time! He's been thrown in the brig twice already!"
They were furious.
This guy wasn't just a repeat offender—he was a repeat offender with zero remorse.
"Captain, we'll take him straight to the brig!"
"Won't work. Tried that—twice already."
Luo Lan shook his head.
"Then… how about making him wash every marine's socks?"
"Tried that too. He ruined every single pair. We had to use division funds to buy everyone new ones."
"Yikes. What about docking his pay?"
"No use. The division provides three meals a day—he doesn't need money."
The two instructors looked at each other.
And sighed.
But Luo Lan suddenly thought of something.
"Wait. Got it. Confiscate his weapon!"
"Captain, you sure? That's kind of harsh…"
One of them hesitated.
"Do it. That's an order!"
"Yes, sir!"
They exchanged a glance and nodded.
Then—one of them knelt and started tugging at Zoro's pants, while the other pulled out a dagger.
Luo Lan stared, dumbfounded.
"What… the hell are you two doing?"
"Captain, you told us to confiscate his… 'weapon'!"
"I meant his swords, you morons!"
Good grief.
These two were system-generated bio-soldiers…
And this is what they thought of first?!
