Chapter 54 - Chapter 54 Server

Possession 10^22 + 11

The view from Seaneight's body went pitch black…

As if completely cut off, yet I could still sense that body was there.

Damn it!! No matter how I tried to control it, nothing worked! It's like something I sent crashed into that continental junction and vanished, just like the waves below…

I'd guessed something like this might happen, but I never imagined it'd sever Seaneight's body signal so abruptly…

Is Seaneight dead? What's next…? I'm thinking…

But! No need to panic. I've been working to keep risks at zero, just haven't figured out the next step yet…

Yup, to everyone super invested (or maybe not, but I'm totally hooked!), if you recall the whoosh, thud from last time, that was when I decided to swap the real Seaneight with her 100% copied body—a "construct" made from a fake body to cut off consciousness and avoid any loss.

The second she crossed that barrier and control was severed, I jumped into my 10,000x time-dilation subspace, like I mentioned before, to buy more thinking time.

Other monsters' eyes locked on the ship's bow. She was still standing there—Seaneight's body hadn't vanished, but…

Connect… Failed.

[Create Clone] LV.100, 5% there… Failed.

Recall… Failed.

[Perfect Shapeshift] LV.100 into that body… Failed.

[Possession] LV.100… Failed.

This is the most critical emergency yet. If I keep going without a plan, the nine other girls' bodies and the hundreds of monsters I sent on that ship will lose connection instantly…

It's not about them dying—I've already swapped their real selves with mindless clones. But if I lose control and those ten girls start wandering aimlessly or do something stupid and get assaulted, or the monsters break free and wreak havoc across the ship… (Sure, most monsters are out of sight and can be recalled, but ten girls vanishing at once? That's a huge deal on a ship…)

Alright, while I'm tackling the physical side at 10,000x speed, let's hit the logical side too. What's going on, and how do I fix this?

Based on the past 53 chapters, I can copy everything in this world with [Perfect Shapeshift] LV.100. Even memories of things that existed can be recreated, as long as they were real at some point in those memories…

I can endlessly modify real things to create new combinations. If I use [Create Clone] on a fake body I control, then copy another body onto it without restrictions, that clone becomes that person—memories, knowledge, thoughts, and soul—derived from my skill's clone, with my identity split into it to think semi-independently. That's the 51% me, 49% them I mentioned. (Other ratios or overlaps? I'll explain later if there's a chance.)

But if it's a "construct" from a clone, requiring MP to maintain before transformation, it becomes that person with memories and knowledge but no identity. It's almost 100% puppeteered by me (not literally, just a metaphor) rather than having its own life. Without my control, those bodies move based on memories, lifeless like puppets.

*4. All this control has no clear medium. I just will it, and it happens instantly, anywhere on this continent…

*5. The one thing my powers—[Create Clone], [Perfect Shapeshift], [Possession], [Overlimit] LV.1-99999—have never and cannot affect is anything tied to the goddesses' powers.

Wait a sec!!

I popped out of the 10,000x subspace for a split second, grabbed the nearest Shatarfish monster in the sea, and unleashed a wave attack across the continental junction!

Whoosh… The power vanished…

[Create Clone] 5% Shatarfish, no shapeshift, swimming straight through… The fake body disappeared…

I warped back into the 10,000x subspace.

…Damn it!! I knew it! Why didn't I see this coming?!

Ugh!! Readers who guessed it can roast me all you want, but I genuinely didn't expect this…

If my powers can't reach or cross that junction with these skills, and the "skill power" can't penetrate it…

That means… that shimmering continental junction… it's something with power on par with the goddesses' blessings!!!!

Or maybe that "can't connect to server" joke I made last time… was real…

Between the goddesses' blessings, the continents' geography mimicking my old world—cold, hot, volcanoes, seas—the central Ragna dungeon linking everything as if nothing's left for other continents, ten heroes per continent, one continent with eleven nations…

If my tiny bit of connection ability is right…

"No way…"

Me (Keng, looking like Grace) blurted out without thinking.

This is big… huge! Which heroes know about this…? If this is true…

These divided "continents" aren't continents at all. They're…

"Servers."

Actual servers! That divide is the crossing from one server to another, where only "data"—items and characters—can pass!

And this entire world, with 100 heroes across 10 servers, what I jokingly called the "goddesses' game"… it's not a metaphor. It's literally the goddesses' game…

Are all the heroes in the palm of their (game's) hand?

And me, thinking I was above it all… am I really just in their grip too?!
