Chapter 39 - The Universal Chest Attraction Force

Chapter 39: The Universal Chest Attraction Force

"Jun-kun... Jun..."

Jun felt something warm and soft touching his cheek, but he was half-conscious.

"Nn...?"

He opened his eyes slowly.

"Jun-kun, you're finally awake!"

Right above him, Utaha was leaning over and pinching his cheeks with both hands while smiling.

"You said you'd explore the forest with me today, right?"

Inside the small cave, Utaha was sitting on Jun's stomach. She was swaying her body lightly to wake him up faster.

"So... so big..."

From his lying-down position, Jun could see two soft mounds wrapped tightly in a uniform.

The Universal Chest Attraction Force is real.

| Notes: "The Universal Chest Attraction Force" (or "universal breast gravity") is a humorous/degen term (often found on Chinese forums or otaku communities), used to describe the powerful allure of big-breasted female characters, as if they have their own gravitational field that pulls in everyone's attention |

He was looking at her with a serious expression. He was amazed, and also a little annoyed because it was blocking his view.

"Big?"

Utaha looked confused, then followed Jun's gaze and realized... exactly which part he was staring at.

"You perv! It's no surprise they call you the 'Big-Boobed JK Novelist'—your mind goes straight there the moment you wake up!"

She quickly covered her chest with her hands, but that only made the shape stand out more.

"It wasn't on purpose."

Jun tried to defend himself. But the truth was, it was extremely hard to ignore, especially with her positioned directly above his face.

"Hmm, but... why did you wake me up by sitting on my stomach?"

Jun felt the situation was getting harder and harder to explain.

"Because you wouldn't wake up!" Utaha pouted. "If I just called from far away, you'd pretend to be asleep!"

"It's still morning, right?"

Jun looked towards the cave entrance. Sunlight was already brightly shining into the cave.

"It's almost nine o'clock! Hurry and get up!"

Utaha grabbed Jun's hands and shook her body again, as if trying to jolt him awake.

Jun could only surrender.

The only mechanical watch at the camp kept ticking. It was the only way they knew what time it was.

"Don't shake anymore..."

Jun quickly grabbed Utaha's hands, which had been moving his body up and down.

"If you want me to get up, maybe you should get off of me first."

That movement was becoming more and more dangerous.

"Oh, yeah."

Utaha immediately blushed and got off of Jun quickly. She moved in a clumsy and embarrassed way.

"Sorry..."

Her face got redder and redder. Unfortunately, Jun's body still reacted in the same way.

Utaha was shocked and surprised. Her mind instantly went to a place far away...

"Jun... want to touch?"

Jun, who had just sat up thinking about life's meaning, suddenly stopped moving. Utaha spoke very quietly, but he heard her.

"Huh?"

He felt like he was still dreaming.

What do you mean by "touch"?

But when he saw Utaha's face red as a tomato and how she was hugging her own chest—making those two mountains even more obvious—Jun instantly understood.

The Universal Chest Attraction Force to each other had just gotten twice as strong.

"Because you've been staring the whole time."

Utaha bowed deeply, her face almost completely hidden behind her long, falling hair.

I want to bite.

NO! What am I thinking!? Jun slapped his own cheeks.

_ _ _

Meanwhile, Utaha was washing her face on the beach to calm herself down. Megumi quietly approached from nearby.

"Was it effective?"

Megumi's voice was soft but also clear and sharp. That's right. Utaha was chosen to complete the "wake up Jun" mission this morning.

"U-umm..."

Utaha quickly covered her face with her hands. She remembered everything she had said earlier.

"I want to die..."

"Effective, then."

Megumi nodded slightly, then, without showing any emotion, poked Utaha in a certain spot.

"Kya!"

Utaha jumped back, surprised.

"Why are you touching that?"

"Comparison test."

Megumi said in a flat tone, staring at her own chest, then at Utaha's, then back again.

Each one has its good points.

She then held her own chest.

When was the last time... Did Jun accidentally touch me?

_ _ _

"Achoo!"

Jun suddenly sneezed while drawing something in the sand with a stick.

The girls gathered around him, listening to the plan he was explaining.

"Since the distance is far, we can't move everything in one trip. So I've divided it into several stages."

Jun drew lines in the sand to make a kind of map between two points: the old camp and the new one.

"Today, Utaha-senpai and I will check the route to make sure it's safe and free of any dangers or obstacles."

The girls nodded seriously. Jun then pointed to the groups he had organized.

"Starting tomorrow, we'll divide into three teams. Yukino and Yui are on the same team. Utaha and Megumi in another. Gin-chan, you're on your own."

"Alone?"

Ginko looked a little upset.

"The most important job is to protect the camp, keep the fire going, and make sure we always have a place to return to after each transport trip."

Jun smiled slightly and looked at the whole team.

"I'll be moving between the two other teams, helping and ensuring safety."

Now the sand looked like a map of a very detailed plan. It's full of arrows, lines going back and forth, and danger markers.

"Each team will take turns. One team will bring goods from here, and the other team will deliver them to the new location. We'll keep going until the treehouse is ready."

He dropped the stick and looked up at the sky for a moment.

The move to the Light Treehouse was about to begin.

"If anyone still has questions, ask now."

"Umm..."

The girls looked at the messy drawings Jun had made in the sand. They looked like they wanted to say something, but they weren't sure how.

"Well..."

Yui finally spoke up.

"Kato-kun, if we move our camp to a new location, won't that make it harder for rescuers to find us?"

Yui pointed to the beach. Not far from there was the SOS sign arranged by Yukino with stones.

Rescue teams...

Her words made everyone stop talking.

Seeing the girls not saying a word, Jun could only sigh and shake his head.

It seemed he still had to say what needed to be said.

"Based on my analysis... I don't think we can count on a rescue team coming..."

He sounded a little sad.

"It's just a theory, of course. Maybe the outside world is in a frenzy looking for you—that's possible too... but..."

But the plane was big and easy to see. If there were any rescue efforts, they should have arrived within three days of the crash. But now...

Almost a month had passed.

There was no sign of a rescue team, and not even the shadow of a ship had appeared.

Not a single piece of man-made trash usually carried by the waves had washed up on shore.

If this place wasn't another world, it might be a hidden paradise completely cut off from the civilized world.

Jun didn't say all of this out loud, but the others seemed to understand.

A plane that big, sitting right next to them, should've been spotted long ago with modern satellite technology.

"Can we really not go home?"

Yui whispered in fear, resting her head on Yukino's shoulder.

"It's okay. Jun also said it's just a theory, and besides..."

Yukino looked at Kato Jun on the beach.

"Besides, even if we move our home, we can always come back to this beach. So if a rescue team really does arrive someday, we won't miss them..."

Jun made the mood a little less serious.

Even so, everyone knew that hope might not be real.

"In that case, let's start packing now."

Seeing the girls begin to lose hope, Jun tried to encourage them to get back on their feet.

"Yeah... Oni-chan, you too—be careful out there."

Megumi stood up from the sand and smiled gently.

"Yui, let's go collect some firewood together."

Yukino decided to take Yui out for a walk on the beach to cheer her up.

Jun saw that they were moving, so he also started to head back into the forest.

"Jun-kun drew all this?"

Utaha walked beside Jun, looking at the bark map in her hands.

The base camp is in the spider forest. The wild boar area is next to it. The savage human zone is farther along. And the venomous snake territory is the farthest area.

And the river that flowed through several of these places.

When Utaha saw the map, she was even more impressed with how much Kato Jun had accomplished.

"No, Yukino helped improve the drawings."

Jun's drawing skills were not very good.

"I see..."

Utaha's expression, which had been shining brightly, immediately lost its shine when Yukino's name was mentioned. She rolled up the map and put it away.

"By the way, Senpai, you practiced leaf-whistling last night, right?"

Jun picked a long leaf from a big tree and gave it to Utaha.

"I think... I've mastered the Laputa: Castle in the Sky melody."

Utaha didn't expect leaf-whistling to be so easy.

Could it be... I'm a genius?

She smiled to herself as she pressed the leaf to her lips.

It didn't take long. After moving the leaf a little, the nice music from Laputa started to play.

And then...

PLOP.

A small bird suddenly fell from the tree near her feet.

It seemed to have fainted.

Jun picked up the bird and looked it over.

The feathers made it look like a pigeon.

But it was three times the size of a normal pigeon.

So saying it was a small bird might not have been exactly right.

But Senpai's skill was pretty outrageous.

There's no need to hunt—prey falls straight from the sky.

That settles it. Tonight's dinner is roast pigeon.

Jun didn't say much as he started to tie up the "big pigeon" with a grass stem he found on the side of the road.

"What's that?"

Utaha was still trying to understand what had just happened. She put away the leaf and looked at the pigeon in Jun's hands, confused.

"A pigeon? It fell from the tree?"

"I guess it flew too fast, hit its head, and just fell."

Utaha put the large bird into her backpack as if it was something she did all the time.

"Really? What are the chances..."

Utaha said quietly, still having trouble believing it.

"Senpai, have you been cold lately? I mean... when sleeping?"

This skill was incredible, Jun thought, while checking Utaha's status.

Everything else looked the same, except for a slightly lower sanity stat.

This meant that the skill used very little energy.

"Cold? Hmm, not really. I sleep wrapped up tightly, so I haven't felt cold."

"Yeah... but..."

Utaha moved closer to Jun and gently held his arm.

"Sometimes I feel... lonely."

"Ah, yeah... I guess..."

Once again, Jun felt a strong desire to be close to that chest.

Earlier this morning, he had almost...

Yes, he was close to losing control.

Luckily, he slammed on the brakes just in time. Otherwise, things could have gotten much more complicated.

But afterwards, he felt bad for a long time.

But in the middle of a forest with no one around... who's going to stop them?

Jun started having bad thoughts.

But it was just a thought.

"It seems like Jun-kun has always been kind of scared of me, huh..."

When Jun seemed to be pulling away, Utaha looked a little annoyed.

"No, that's not it!"

Jun quickly said he didn't.

"I just... don't feel confident yet. The most important thing now is to move the camp."

To Jun, he and Utaha weren't in a good place to make major decisions. If they lost control, their relationship could change in a way that would be permanent.

"Okay."

Utaha finally let go of his arm.

"I'll wait until you're ready. "I'll keep waiting until that day comes."

Utaha never thought she could like someone this deeply.

It hurt, but she liked it.

"Senpai..."

Jun reached out, touched her fingers, and held them gently.

_ _ _

Ggrrr...

A girl's stomach made a loud noise.

She didn't know how far she had run.

But it seemed like the night had passed.

She had escaped from a cannibal tribe, but now she was lost in the forest.

The tribe leader had already betrayed her, and if she returned, she'd be captured again.

Ggrrr...

The savage girl curled up under a big tree, shaking from the cold.

I'm hungry...

Autumn was slowly becoming winter.

The night air was cold.

Snap…

A twig broke, making a sound that came from the bushes.

Someone's coming!

The savage girl immediately stood up, her body stiff with fear.

"Ulaaah!"

I finally found you!

The savage tribe leader had found her, with two of his followers.

Now, they had her trapped.

"Ulaa! Ulaa!!"

The savage girl woke up and ran away as fast as she could.

I'm going to die...! If they catch me, they'll eat me alive...!

The savage girl was terrified. She ran as fast as she could. Her pale feet hit the wet forest floor, leaving prints on the wet leaves.

Her steps were erratic, but quick—her body was moving on pure survival instinct.

This forest felt like an endless maze.

But she kept running, going through shrubs and over big roots. She was trying to escape from the shadow of death that was chasing her.
