Chapter 97 - Chapter 97: A Mere Original Creator

"What?" Medici snapped his gaze to Evah, his eyes sharpening.

"You've probably guessed it, haven't you? If the Primordial Demoness loves Tudor so much, how could she not leave a backup for his revival? Heh, it's even Tudor's only revival backup. She's a yandere, after all—she can't stand her lover slipping out of her control."

Evah couldn't help but laugh. The original story's plot was so unhinged that even recalling it made him chuckle.

After laughing, he looked at Medici. "But I wouldn't recommend picking a fight with the Primordial Demoness. You can't outplay her."

He was serious. Medici was too normal. How could a normal guy outmaneuver a lunatic?

Medici's brows furrowed again, clearly disagreeing. "With a well-set trap, even a Sequence 0 becomes prey once they fall into it."

"But a lack of intel is fatal for a schemer," Evah said, not arguing. He smiled, took another crunch of his apple, and continued, "Little Red, do you know about the Primordial Demoness's connection to the Primordial God?"

Medici's eyes flickered, catching on. He bit into his apple. "I can guess a bit. The Primordial Demoness has never hidden it—she's put it right out there. Other idiots might overlook it, but I don't."

The Primordial Demoness never concealed her ties to the Primordial God, even writing it into her doctrine. Most just didn't buy it.

But Medici never dismissed any possibility, so he'd long suspected their connection.

"The Primordial Demoness is the Primordial God's female form," Evah said, smiling, confirming his guess.

"Tch!" Even with his suspicions, Medici couldn't help but feel irritated at the confirmation. It meant hunting the Primordial Demoness would be far tougher than a typical Sequence 0.

Evah, still grinning, pressed on. "Little Red, do you know about the Primordial Demoness's connection to the Original Creator?"

This was truly hidden knowledge, known by barely anyone in this world, and definitely not by Medici, who'd been locked up for over a millennium.

"What do you mean?" Medici's expression turned grave. As a top-tier schemer, even with limited info, he sensed something big.

"The Original Creator in the Mirror," Evah said slowly, meeting Medici's gaze with a smile. "That's the fifth line of her honorific name."

Medici's pupils dilated, his mind piecing together known intel into a conspiracy he could hardly believe.

Evah tossed his apple core into the trash, wiped his mouth with a tissue, and looked at the pensive Medici, grinning. "I don't know if you've thought about this, but I can tell you clearly: the Original Creator wants to live too."

"The origin of everything, the source of all madness and reason, left a revival backup. Guess where?"

Medici, catching on, said with a strained tone, "The City of Calamity, the Demoness and Hunter pathways."

"Correct! Want another apple?" Evah nodded, smiling, pulling another apple from nowhere and offering it.

Medici's mood was thrown off again, leaving him both annoyed and amused. But seeing Evah's calm demeanor, he relaxed, taking the apple. "You really like apples?"

"Not really. I just thought you might, since 'an apple a day keeps the doctor away,' right?" Evah said with a grin.

"Sounds like it lacks any occult basis," Medici said, but he was already crunching into the apple.

"At least it's a good omen," Evah said earnestly.

"Tch!" Medici rolled his eyes. Then he saw Evah pull out coffee beans, apparently planning to hand-grind a cup of coffee right there.

"Is this really appropriate?" Medici couldn't hold back. "You're diving into such a serious topic while making coffee?"

"What's inappropriate? It's not a big deal," Evah said, as if puzzled by Medici's tension. He leisurely worked the coffee grinder, then looked up with a grin. "It's just the Original Creator trying to revive, only to get outplayed by the old sneak, suppressed by the Primordial Demoness, and used instead."

Are you even listening to yourself?

You call that "just"?

Medici thought he was pretty ruthless, but watching Evah calmly grind coffee, clearly valuing it over the Original Creator's drama, he couldn't help but say, "You'd have made a great Hunter."

That silent mockery? Even the Celestial Worthy would bow twice.

"Thanks for the compliment, but Hunter's not for me. Climbing that pathway's peak means a gender swap—not my thing," Evah said seriously, then gave Medici a thoughtful once-over. "But you'd probably adapt well, Little Red. After all, Sauron and Einhorn used to go by 'lady.'"

"Hah!" Medici laughed—maybe out of anger, maybe not—but he quickly regained his composure. "Who's the old sneak? Cheek's crazy, but I don't buy that he could suppress the Original Creator's will, even a fragment of it."

Evah glanced at him, smiling. "The old sneak is the Celestial Worthy, of course—your so-called Lord of Mysteries. His presence is why the Original's will got suppressed by the Primordial Demoness."

Medici's expression showed no surprise, as if he'd suspected as much.

Evah, grinding coffee beans, continued, "That's what gave the Primordial Demoness a shot at replacing the Original Creator."

"Her?" Medici's mood was hard to pin down—maybe just thinking the world had gone mad.

"Not just her. There's Tudor too! The Primordial God, the Celestial Worthy's will, revival backups…" Evah finished grinding the beans and looked at Medici. "Put those together, and what do you think? Can they cook up a mini Original Creator?"
