Crabominable, covered in cold-resistant white fur, is likely based on a snowman from snowy mountains.
Its types are Fighting and Ice. Usually found only in remote snowy mountains, like Glaseado Mountain in Paldea.
Crabominable's fist-like claws will naturally fall off under certain unknown conditions. These claws are much tastier than ones lost in battle.
Back then, Lucas and Luxray had followed Oinkologne and picked up a pair of these claws.
Now, though they remembered the joy of that windfall, Lucas and Luxray didn't immediately try to snatch the claws from Oinkologne.
Not because they wanted to be noble, but because any Crabominable claws left on the ground usually meant a Crabominable was nearby, lying in wait for prey.
Lucas and Luxray stayed quiet in the bushes, watching as Oinkologne sniffed the claws, a look of ecstasy on its dark face.
Oinkologne checked its surroundings, and seeing no rivals, its eyes brightened. It carefully groomed itself, cleaning its fur and pink hooves.
It wanted to be at its most handsome and elegant when eating the first claw, then bring the second to woo a mate.
At that moment, from the bushes near the claws, a pair of fresh, brand-new claws—almost identical to those on the ground—stealthily poked out, but Oinkologne lost in anticipation, didn't notice at all.
Lucas and Luxray still didn't move.
This was a battle between wild Pokémon—he usually preferred to observe quietly.
He would only interfere occasionally, on a whim.
Crabominable's claws inched closer and closer to Oinkologne. Maybe because it got impatient or felt victory was assured, Crabominable instantly covered its fists with ice, clearly planning to finish things with an Ice Punch.
But the chill alerted Oinkologne at the last second.
With a terrified squeal, Oinkologne ducked, and Crabominable's slow but powerful punch just grazed its scalp.
Frost formed on Oinkologne's head, and with a cry, it bolted away at top speed.
Its strong legs propelled it to safety in an instant.
Crabominable stared at its missed punch, then reluctantly retreated into the bushes to wait for another victim.
"That should do it…"
Lucas' voice was very low, but he made no effort to hide as he and Luxray stood up from the bushes. This naturally caught Klawf's attention.
Crabominable thought its luck was great—another two prey had arrived so quickly.
Like before, it crouched in the bushes, waiting for Lucas and Luxray to approach.
Suddenly, dozens of dazzling light dots appeared under Crabominable, rising from the ground to form a brilliant pillar of light in just a few seconds.
From afar, a shining pillar shot up from the mountainside—a stunning sight.
"So sudden?!"
Lucas and Luxray paused, exchanging surprised looks, but didn't move.
The pillar lasted only a dozen seconds before fading. Now in a Terastallized form, Crabominable stood before a sparkling Tera crystal, fists brimming with power.
Atop Crabominable's Tera crown, Tera energy formed a huge fist—it was a Fighting-type Terastallization!
Crabominable felt stronger than ever, afraid of nothing!
"Lux!"
Luxray called out, and Lucas saw a mysterious glow from his pocket.
He pulled out the glowing Tera Orb and murmured, "It's fully charged."
Blinking, Lucas gave Crabominable a second of silence, then said decisively, "Terastallize, Luxray!"
Luxray stepped forward, and the Tera Orb burst, showering it with Tera energy.
Crystals enveloped Luxray, then shattered, leaving it shining like a gemstone. Luxray roared at the crescent moon, its immense presence sending birds fleeing from the trees.
On Luxray's Tera crown was a huge lightbulb.
Tera Type: Electric!
Crabominable sensed trouble as soon as Luxray roared. Its blood-boiling excitement was instantly doused by cold water, and it tried to escape, but the Tera crystal behind it kept it trapped.
Crabominable's eyes went wide in terror as it raised its fists as if to surrender.
Lucas was amused. Tempted to quote, "Are you joking right now?" he instead just ordered, "Thunderbolt!"
Golden lightning tore through the air, empowered by Tera energy, engulfing both Crabominable and the Tera crystal.
For a moment, the blinding light lit up half the sky.
"These claws—we'll gladly accept them."
Suppressing his urge to drool, Lucas picked up the huge Crabominable claws like treasure.
Luxray, seeing Lucas's shamelessness, could only shake its head—but it didn't notice the drool at the corner of its mouth.
Crabominable, now out of Terastallization, had its injuries and paralysis treated by Lucas.
It lay peacefully in the bushes, sleeping like a baby.
The Tera crystal vanished as quickly as it appeared.
Normally, random Tera crystals in Paldea lasted a whole day, but Crabominable's and Luxray's Terastallizations, plus Lucas draining his Tera Orb, had completely used up the Tera energy.
With no energy left, the crystal vanished.
"Lux~"
Luxray picked up two shards of crystal from the ground and brought them to Lucas.
"Thanks." Lucas took them and saw, as expected, that they were Fighting-type Tera Shards.
Just seeing these made his liver ache, recalling the days when he had to grind 6-star Tera Raids non-stop in Scarlet & Violet just to change Tera types.
