Natasha vomited.
John had done it this time.
Leaning against a tree, she felt like a sock thrown into a washing machine, spinning and tumbling three and a half times. Even with her professional combat training as an agent, she vomited profusely.
"Click."
She turned her head and saw John holding a camera, his expression innocent. "Keep it as a souvenir."
Natasha glared at him fiercely. "You better delete that."
"No way."
He pulled out a photo, smiling. "Polaroid. Take it now, get it now."
Shaking the photo to develop it, John examined it for a moment before showing it to Natasha.
"Won't you get vomit in your hair if you spit like this?"
Natasha practically wanted to kill John with her eyes. This guy!
"Shh," John made a shushing gesture as she was about to speak. He pointed ahead.
Iron Man and Thor descended from the sky in a "strong man locks man" pose. The two began arguing over Loki's custody. Thor threw Mjolnir, sending Tony flying into the trees, breaking them.
"His armor's shock absorption is really good," John commented while watching the internal conflict of the Avengers' Big Three. "New energy has significantly improved his armor's performance."
He and Natasha were lying prone in a bush, their hands still cuffed together.
Seeing John still had the leisure to comment, Natasha asked, "Aren't you going to stop them?"
"What? Me?" John was startled. "One is my competitor, the other is an alien. How do you expect me to stop them?"
"Aren't you a wizard?" Natasha cried exasperatedly. "Use your magic."
"Sorry, you've locked up my dominant hand," John raised his cuffed left hand, saying regretfully, "I can't do anything."
Natasha immediately fumbled for the key. John opened his right hand. "Are you looking for this?"
The key had already been conveniently taken by John.
In front of Natasha, he threw it with force, and the key disappeared.
"See? I am locked up by you. You have to take, well, seventy-five percent of the responsibility."
Natasha's chest rose and fell. She really had not expected John to just throw the key away. Now they could only wait for Captain America to appear and stop the fight.
The big battle over there was still ongoing. Tony's armor was not just for show either. Its thrusters propelled him to kick Thor away. Thor flew out, a hint of anger on his face, raised Mjolnir to summon lightning, and a blue and white flash struck Tony. Instantly, it was as bright as day, and sparks crackled and flew off Tony.
"Energy reached four hundred percent."
Tony thought he would be crippled if not dead, but instead got a supercharge. He himself was stunned for a moment.
"Not bad."
An energy beam shot out from his chest, knocking Thor away. The two took off simultaneously, starting a sky battle, fighting from the sky to a cliff face, then falling into the forest.
Human technology versus a god's body. The two fought inextricably. Seemingly evenly matched, but Tony was actually in danger. Especially when Tony watched his arm armor being crushed by Thor's bare hands, his heart trembled even more. Fortunately, a palm repulsor blast sent Thor flying, resolving the situation.
John somehow had a small bucket of popcorn in his hand. He ate it while exclaiming, "Thor's strength, directly crushing titanium alloy."
Tony's armor is made of titanium alloy, which can be said to be the hardest material below metals like vibranium. That Thor could crush it purely by strength shows the nonhuman physique of Asgardians. With this strength, it is not surprising at all that they were called gods in ancient times.
Natasha watched him eat popcorn. "Aren't you going to do anything?"
"Look, the savior is here," John pointed to a running blue figure.
A sentence appeared in his mind. "At this moment, Captain America is still on his way, running."
Fighting from the sky to the ground, Tony and Thor stood up again, ready to attack each other. And Steve finally arrived. The spot where his parachute landed earlier was a bit far, so he ran the whole way. It was a good thing the two did not fly too far to fight, or he would not have made it.
The iconic shield hit Thor's forehead with a "duang" sound, then bounced onto Tony's shoulder, and finally rebounded back to Steve's hand.
Sounds good? If it sounds good, it is a good head!
"Wait, is this thing reasonable?" John's eyes widened.
Natasha said in surprise, "That is Captain America's signature move."
"I understand the principle, but it bouncing back like that is truly outrageous," John said with emotion. "And Thor, his head is really hard." He is practically an iron-headed baby, taking a shield thrown by a super soldier with his head as if nothing happened.
Seeing Steve appear, John knew the show was over. He looked up. Two ravens circled in the dark night. John understood. That was Odin watching his beloved son's fight.
Steve was indeed the Captain. He was not impulsive like Tony but calmly inquired, "What is your purpose here?" He had heard Coulson talk about Thor, Loki's brother. Then they should not be enemies.
Thor also calmed down. "I came here to stop Loki's scheme."
"Then prove it to us," Steve said. "Put down the hammer in your hand."
He did not know what Mjolnir meant to Thor. The anger he had suppressed erupted after Tony habitually poked the bear.
"Ah, no, not a good idea," Tony said. "He super loves his hammer."
Thor erupted, smashing Tony away with a hammer, and said angrily, "You want me to put down my hammer?"
He took a big leap, Mjolnir in his hand heavily smashing towards Steve. Steve raised his shield.
"Duang!"
As if a tracer round had exploded, intense white light, due to the vibranium shield's energy and kinetic absorption properties, bounced onto Thor. Thor flew backwards, and the surrounding forest was cleared into an open space by this shockwave.
Even where John was was affected. Natasha closed her eyes, stimulated by the white light. When she opened her eyes, an armor phantom was in front, blocking all attacks.
"This is?"
"Magic."
With a simple, direct explanation, John looked up and saw the ravens had flown away. On a distant mountaintop, he saw Loki standing there, neither running away nor afraid of being caught. Loki smiled and waved at John.
After the violent explosion, things could finally settle down.
"Hi, Thor," John and Natasha walked over, handcuffed together, looking like they were holding hands.
Thor calmed down. Seeing John, his face was full of surprise. "John!"
He strode over and gave John a warm hug.
"Are you doing well?" Thor said happily. "Long time no see."
"Actually, not that long," John shrugged. "For your lifespan, it is just a blink."
"But for ordinary people, that is long enough," Thor retorted.
John smiled slightly and walked up to Tony and Steve, who were looking at each other in confusion.
"Let me introduce you. This is Tony Stark, a talkative, annoying guy who also likes to run around naked."
Tony's faceplate popped open, his face filled with doubt and surprise. "How are you here?"
"Same as you. Someone called me over," John raised his cuffed hand.
Tony whistled. "A very special way of invitation. Is this kinky?"
"This is Steve Rogers. Do not look at him like that. He is actually one of the strongest people on this planet," John then introduced Steve.
The more Steve looked at John, the more familiar he seemed. "Have I seen you somewhere before?"
"It is a shame you cannot remember, Steve."
John said regretfully, "Looks like I do not need to buy you a drink then."
Finally, turning to Natasha, John smiled. "This is Natasha Romanoff, currently my assistant."
Natasha extended her hand. "Hello, Thor."
Thor was always a gentleman towards women. He shook Natasha's hand and smiled. "Hello, Natasha."
He smiled at John and said, "How is Jane?"
"She is a top astronomer now," John said, stroking his chin. "The kind with a very good salary."
"I told my mother about you, and she was very happy," Thor said. "She was raised by a witch, and she also told me about the wizards on this planet, asking me to visit the Witch King."
"Wizard King?" Steve asked, puzzled.
"My mother said a Wizard King has appeared in this world, and his grace favors every wizard. Even Asgard in the distance has felt it," Thor said strangely. "You do not know?"
"They are not wizards," John shrugged. "Not everyone can use magic."
The casual chat ended. Except for John and Thor, everyone else was thoughtful. A Wizard King mentioned by a god from outside the planet. And Thor's words carried respect. That is right. As the Wizard King, wizards who possess magic are all subjects of the Wizard King. Thor's mother was raised by a witch, and Thor continued his mother's respect for the Wizard King. It is just that Thor did not know the Wizard King was right beside him.
They went to capture the well behaved and sensible Loki and took him onto the plane. During this time, Thor talked about what happened after he returned to Asgard. Also, how he smashed the Rainbow Bridge, and Odin used dark magic to open the Bifrost Bridge and teleport him here to stop Loki. Now, only by finding the Tesseract can he take his brother back.
Loki kept looking at John, a smile on his lips. His gaze quietly fell on his palm. The blood from his cut palm was pointing at the person in front of him.
His smile deepened, and Loki spoke softly.
"Hello, John Wick."
