Nina sat cross-legged on the living room floor, letting the pup gnaw on the hem of her hoodie.
He had calmed down considerably now that he was near her, occasionally sneezing little wisps of shadow whenever he got too excited.
Luna watched him warily from the couch, arms crossed.
"You know, you can't just keep a dungeon monster like it's a hamster. You've got school. Work. And let's be honest, you barely manage your sleep schedule as is."
Luna said,
Nina blinked, still focused on scratching behind the pup's ears.
"Hmm?"
"He's going to be a handful. If he's anything like the other pups I've seen—he'll need supervision, mana stabilization, specialized food, and attention. A lot of attention. How are you going to manage that?"
Luna continued.
The question made Nina pause. She glanced at the pup, who immediately tilted his head in response.
"Huh. I… didn't think about it."
Luna sighed, dragging a hand down her face.
"Of course you didn't."
