Luna stood in front of the elevator, silently praying for divine intervention.
Something, anything, to make Nina vanish before she had to deal with her in front of him.
She glanced at Seigfried, who was still comfortably seated in her office, flipping through one of her old research logs like he had no intention of leaving.
"I don't want to keep you from your work. It must be busy on your end too, right?"
Luna said, trying to sound casual.
Seigfried hummed, not looking up.
"It is, but I've cleared my schedule for the afternoon. No rush."
She resisted the urge to glare.
"You really don't have to stay. I'm fine now."
"I know. But I want to stay."
He smiled innocently.
Luna inhaled deeply through her nose, mentally weighing whether hitting him with a paralysis potion would be overkill.
She checked her tablet again—Nina had sent another message:
[Nina: I'm downstairs.]
Too late.
