Chapter 24 - Chapter 24 Potions (Part 2)

The Potions class continued. Snape divided the students into groups of two and instructed them to mix a simple potion to treat scabies.

Snape dragged his long black cloak around the classroom, watching them weigh dry nettles and crush snake fangs. Almost all the students were criticized, only Malfoy and Damon were spared. Despite this, Snape's eyes were still like a venomous snake, as if he was ready to make sarcastic remarks at any time.

Just as he showed everyone how perfect Malfoy's method of steaming slugs with tentacles was, Damon suddenly stretched out a hand and firmly locked Neville's fat hand - there was a porcupine quill.

"Wait a minute, Neville." Damon's voice was calm and steady, "You have to take the pot off the fire first, and then put the porcupine quill in."

Neville was startled and quickly let go of his hand, his face full of panic and gratitude: "Oh, God, thank you, Damon! I almost messed up"

  Isn't it.

If Damon hadn't kept Neville in his condition, this unusual boy who survived would have spilled the potion, causing his whole body to be covered with red and swollen scabies, and he would scream in pain.

"Oh, Mr. White, it seems that you are very enthusiastic in 'helping' your classmates."

Snape's tone was cold and full of sarcasm.

"But have you forgotten that you are not the teacher of this course? How dare you interrupt my teaching?" He paused for a moment, as if enjoying this moment of sarcasm, "If you are so proficient in potions, maybe I should consider letting you take the class and see what you can do for us."

The atmosphere in the classroom suddenly solidified, and the students did not dare to speak, only Malfoy sneered.

Harry frowned and was about to speak to defend Damon, but Ron kicked him behind the pot.

"Don't be silly," he whispered, "I heard that Snape is particularly unreasonable."

Damon did not respond immediately, but silently glanced at the pot of potion that was steaming.

  Then, he said softly:

"Professor, since you are so strict, I will certainly not disappoint you."

He walked to the medicine table, picked up the medicine spoon gracefully and started to operate from the beginning, without any pause, and the movements were smooth and smooth.

Snape stood aside, staring at Damon's every move with a sharp look like a knife, as if waiting for him to make a mistake.

However, all of Damon's actions were impeccable.

A few minutes later, with the last step - adding the porcupine quills to the crucible and stirring quickly three times, the color of the solution gradually turned into a medium green, exuding a faint herbal fragrance.

Damon put the potion into two test tubes, put one away, and handed the other to Snape.

"Professor, please give me some advice."

Snape stared at the test tube handed by Damon. Looking at the potion that was almost perfect and had no flaws, his brows slightly frowned, and his voice was low and a little unhappy:

"I don't think I said that the potions here can be taken away."

Damon smiled gently, as if he was not affected by Snape's words at all:

"This is the first potion I mixed. It is a monument on my journey to become a potion master. Please allow me, sir."

  The

corners of Snape's mouth twitched, and he silently picked up the potion and shook it, carefully observing the texture and color of the potion.

A minute later, he finally put the test tube down, his face still without any expression, but in his cold eyes, a trace of imperceptible recognition flashed across.

After a moment of silence, he finally spoke, his tone was still cold, as if he was unwilling to show himself too generous:

"Remember, next time don't take your potion away from me casually, unless you can make it perfect."

". In addition, Gryffindor adds one point for your sloppy scabies potion."

"Now, your Potions class is over today, leave my classroom!"

  "As you wish, sir."

Damon packed up and left, leaving behind a group of young wizards who were shocked.

"What are you all standing there for! Have you finished your potions? Neville Longbottom, join Mr. Potter's group and learn from them. If I see you make a small mistake like the one just now, I will directly deduct ten points from Gryffindor!"

  "Yes! Professor!"

Neville's neck shrank and he flew to Harry's side, but he couldn't help looking at the door of the classroom, where Damon had just left.

When the class was over, Gryffindor, who was slightly ahead in the House Cup, had been deducted twelve points by Snape for various reasons.

And the Slytherin students were also given ten points for various reasons.

The Gryffindor students were very dissatisfied with this, but the response they received was just "If you talk back to the professor, you will be deducted two more points."

After walking out of the classroom, the young wizards who were holding back their words suddenly burst into a loud noise. In addition to the discussion about Professor Snape's unfair grading, they also talked about Damon's performance.

"I heard that Professor Snape rarely gave extra points to students outside of Slytherin, but Damon was able to add the points back after deducting them from him!"

"He also took away the potion he made, man! Didn't you see how scary Professor Snape's expression was when I wanted to take my potion away! I bet if he looked at me for two more seconds, I would have wet my pants!"

"I'm afraid only Damon can make this unfair professor not catch the fault! I bet Gryffindor will have a hard time in the future!"

Hermione walked among the students who were talking, looking depressed.

  Lost! Lost completely!

Snape did not praise her potion, nor did he allow her to take the potion away, and even ridiculed her severely with Damon!

She tried her best to hide her emotions, but Harry and Ron soon noticed her abnormality, especially her unconsciously lowered head and slightly slumped shoulders.

The two exchanged glances, obviously aware of her emotions.

"Hey, Hermione, what's wrong? You don't look quite right."

Harry walked over to Hermione and tried to break her silence with a relaxed tone.

Hermione glanced at Harry, pursed her lips, said nothing, and left.

"Dude, why are you asking for trouble? Look at her expression, it's obvious that she feels that she is not as good as Damon and is hit hard."

Looking at Hermione's leaving figure, Ron felt that this girl was really twisted, and secretly complained in his heart that she should be in Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor. Despite this, he still opened his mouth to change the subject:

"But I'm still more curious, why doesn't Damon care about Snape's sarcasm at all?"

"See? Snape's tone was almost hostile at that time, and Damon was not affected at all. Instead, he said, 'As you wish, sir'. Is he related to Snape?"

"No, Damon said he was born a Muggle and could not have any relationship with Snape."

"That's strange." Ron thought about it, didn't figure it out, and gave up

immediately,

"Okay, the next two and a half days are fine, we should enjoy our vacation!"
