"Hey! Kid! Hurry up and pay the money!"
With so many people around speaking for him, the bald old man was smug.
Once he gained momentum, he became arrogant and even came up to Jotaro, shoving him, yelling, "Don't think that just because you're tall you're something great! This place is not outside the law! You ate my food, so you must pay me!"
The onlookers chimed in, "Exactly, paying for food is only right and proper. Young man, it's not worth it over just one meal."
"If you don't have money, we can help you pay. Just apologize to the boss."
Jotaro stood still with a dark face, reached into his pocket, took out his wallet, and pulled out a Japanese banknote.
The people around gasped. They had all seen it, the wallet was thick with cash, and all of it in the highest denominations.
The bald old man looked at the shining banknote in Jotaro's hand, and his eyes lit up instantly.
"You have money but still refuse to pay, are you deliberately bullying an old man like me?"
He immediately lunged forward, trying to snatch the bill from Jotaro's hand.
"Hmph! You don't look like a rich person at all. Give me the money. I want to check if it's counterfeit."
Jotaro, as if mocking him, raised the note high. Even if the other jumped, he still couldn't reach it.
The bald old man, ashamed and angry, suddenly crashed into Jotaro.
"Ah, ow!" His body went limp and fell to the ground. He said angrily, "If you're not paying, fine, but why did you hit me!"
"My heart disease is acting up! Ahhh… you must compensate me for medical expenses! This illness must be treated at a large hospital, it'll cost tens of thousands of yen at least!"
A nearby vendor chimed in, threatening, "You brat, not paying is one thing, but hitting people?"
"If you continue being so stubborn, we won't be polite with you!"
Faced with so many people, Jotaro's face showed no fear at all, calmly saying, "The food in this restaurant isn't worth the listed price. I dare to not pay. This kind of thing, I, Kujo Jotaro, have done before. If you're not happy, you can come try."
"Jotaro-san, you still have the face to say such vile things?" Shinobu covered her face, thinking this kind of person was completely hopeless.
"You!" The vendor in white glared angrily but didn't dare really get tangled up with Jotaro..Compared to Jotaro's physique, he was just a chick.
"You all judge, he ate without paying and even hit an old man! Tie him up and report him to the authorities!" the bald old man cried out in grievance.
"Wait a second," Jotaro said indifferently.
The bald old man thought he had backed down, and sneered.
"What else do you have to say? If you don't compensate me 100,000 yen today, don't even think of leaving!"
"I advise you not to make me angry," Jotaro's eyes turned frightening. "Or else your already short remaining lifespan will become even shorter."
"You dare to threaten me?!" The bald old man again tried to stir up the crowd, seeking sympathy.
After saying those words, Jotaro didn't speak anymore, just stood there with a dark expression. Clearly, he was on the verge of exploding.
Seeing the old man looking so pitiful, the crowd began pointing fingers at Jotaro.
Suddenly, a child around eleven or twelve years old stood up.
"It was Grandpa who fell on his own. This big brother didn't hit him. I saw it."
So many people looking at him made the child a little timid. But under the drive of justice, he gathered his courage and said what he knew.
"This old man often rips off travelers. A bowl of char siu rice that costs just 2 yen, he sold to this big brother for 20 yen!"
The onlookers immediately shouted upon hearing that.
"What! A bowl of char siu rice costs only 2 yen? Damn it, I just ate at his place, and he charged me 10 yen!"
The bald old man's face changed drastically and he cursed, "You little brat, talking nonsense! It's always been this price! If you don't believe me, ask the other vendors!"
The vendor in white tried to laugh it off and said, "Everyone, calm down! I can vouch! Char siu rice is indeed this price here."
After saying that, he glared fiercely at the child and shouted, "Where did this little brat come from? Get lost! Are you looking to die?"
The child trembled in fear. But he firmly believed that there should be justice in this world, that was his sense of righteousness.
He shouted loudly at the crowd in his young voice, "These vendors are in cahoots, cheating, lying, and swindling! They're all in it together!"
"Not only outsiders, even locals, they short the weight! If you don't believe me, weigh the things you just bought!"
"You! You! You!" The vendors were so anxious, they shouted.
"You brat, are you here to cause trouble on purpose? Did other competitors send you to mess with our business?"
The vendors came forward and surrounded the child. Their vicious faces scared the child into tears.
"Say it! Who sent you!" The vendor in white reached out to grab the child.
Unexpectedly, a broad hand suddenly grabbed his wrist. The strength from that hand made him completely unable to move.
He turned his head, and saw Jotaro's tall figure.
"Let go!"
Jotaro ignored him.
"Let go!" The vendor in white broke into a cold sweat from the pain. "My hand... my hand's going to break!"
Crack!
He screamed in pain.
The child looked at Jotaro with tear-filled eyes and suddenly felt safe. He shouted loudly without hesitation, "I'm a local resident! My family doesn't run any business! You must believe me!"
"This old man often buys nearly spoiled meat at low prices! Even dogs won't eat this meat. Yet he turns it into char siu and sells it to customers. They're all in it together!"
The faces of those who had eaten at the old man's shop turned green.
"Damn! They really shorted the weight!" A person shouted, "I bought two jin of meat, re-weighed it, only one and a half! Damn it, missing half a jin!"
"Mine's short too!!"
"Goddammit! Give me my money back!"
Realizing they were duped, the crowd surged forward and surrounded the vendors.
"Give us an explanation! Or don't even think of leaving today!"
The vendors tried to laugh it off, "Don't be mad, it's not easy for us to do business, please be understanding."
"Understand your mom! Who will understand us! Beat the hell out of these unscrupulous vendors!"
The deceived crowd swarmed forward, beating the vendors with fists and feet.
"You bastard! Where do you think you're running?" Jotaro caught the bald old man trying to sneak away and asked coldly.
The old man trembled, turned around shakily, looked at Jotaro's raised fist, and said fearfully, "You wouldn't hit me, would you? I'm an old man! I have heart disease, and high blood pressure. If you beat me to death, you'll regret it!"
"Yare yare daze…"
Jotaro glanced at him and said indifferently, "You're absolutely right."
He hit very hard, otherwise, so many people wouldn't have had their balls busted by him.
He wasn't Star Platinum and couldn't finely control his strength.
The old man snorted, "Good that you know! Now let me go! I'm an old man, I am!"
"You're the first to ever make me want to use my Stand to beat someone up."
Jotaro grabbed his clothes and said coldly, "I'll leave you with half your life!"
Star Platinum appeared beside Jotaro, showing a terrifying grin.
"ORA ORA ORA ORA ORA!"
"Jotaro-san, using such heavy force on an old man, don't you feel guilty?"
Looking at the bald old man twitching on the ground, Shinobu couldn't help asking.
Although she also hated those unscrupulous vendors and thought they deserved it, seeing the old man's whole body broken still made her feel a little bad.
Jotaro lit a cigarette, indifferent, "Not at all."
"I warned him long ago, messing with me would only make his already short life even shorter."
Shinobu said, "You're the worst."
