The grand living room of the Alpha's Mansion had never been this tense. The chandelier flickered slightly overhead, like it too was holding its breath.
Seated in a circle were Alpha Throne, the triplets, Rael, Aria, Liora, Lyra, Moira, Serana, Beta Rayne, Beta Wayne, and, of course, the ever-mysterious Elder Vaughn.
Alpha Throne leaned forward in his chair, hands steepled beneath his chin. "Enough games, Elder Vaughn. Start spilling. Now."
Elder Vaughn chuckled lightly. "Why such impatience, Alpha? You have aged well for someone who can't wait five minutes."
Alpha Throne growled, "Maybe when I hang your head from the roof, you will finally learn when to spill and when to hoard truths."
Unfazed, Elder Vaughn smirked. "Temper, temper. Very unbecoming of a father with so many… complicated sons."
That earned a few awkward coughs from the room.
