Chapter 3 - The Silver Haired Surprise

Clash!!!!!

"Dorry Wai—-"

Clash!!!!! Clash!!!!!

"Dorry, Hold On, I ha—-"

Clash!!!!!

"Stop!!!!!!!!"

Brogy's loud yell rang all around the island, causing birds to fly out of the forest and making Dorry, the giant he was fighting, freeze.

As Dorry was about to ask what was going on, he heard something that surprised him. A quiet crying sound was coming from Brogy's chest area.

Brogy, after seeing that Dorry had noticed, dropped his weapon and shield. He then dug into his cloak, which he had folded to hold the baby.

"Earlier today, I found this little one in my bed. I haven't been able to find his parents, and I couldn't just leave him there…."

Dorry looked at the newborn baby with curiosity.

"For someone so tiny, it sure has some strong lungs. When he grows, he will have quite the battle cry."

"Gi-Ga-Ba-Ba-Ba!! That's exactly what I was thinking!."

As the two giants spoke, Haruki was trying to calm his heart. After he had been stuffed in a smelly and dark place, the deafening sound of clashing metal began ringing. His newborn years, which were sensitive, were hurting really badly.

"Since we can't just leave the little warrior lying around all alone, we should postpone our fight for now. At least until we find the little one's parents."

As he said this, Dorry sighed and dropped his own weapons.

"No, Dorry, I can still—-"

Dorry shook his head and grabbed hold of Brogy's hand, which was about to put the baby back into the fold of his clock.

"No. If we continue to fight, then you and I will both be distracted while thinking about the little one's safety. We might even end up holding back, and I won't have that. I won't allow our nearly century-old fight to be sullied like that. I also won't put the safety of an innocent person in danger with our duel; that isn't honorable. If something happened to the baby while we dueled, neither of us would be able to live with ourselves."

While Brogy hated that he was the cause of them interrupting their duel, he also agreed with everything that Dorry was saying.

They both looked at the child, who had stopped crying and tilted his head as if confused with large smiles.

"Hey, Dorry, the little one and I were working on today's dinner. Would you like to join in? We could wait for the little one's parents to show up."

Dorry smiled and nodded, "Alright, let me get what I caught, and I'll meet you there."

As the two giants spoke with each other, something magical appeared in front of Haruki. A floating screen, which looked to have been made out of blue light, appeared floating above his head.

As Haruki read the notices in front of him, something clicked. He remembered his last words, the wish he had voiced before he had fallen asleep. The wish, to be sent to another world, one free from his dad, one where he would be able to summon the Yu-gi-oh monsters.

"Wish Finalized? Can it be? Was my wish granted?! Is that why I woke up in this strange place"

Now that he knew the possible reason for his current situation, he felt relieved but at the same time frightened. If his wish had really been finalized, then he was going to be permanently stuck here for the next few years. With no one other than two giants who probably didn't know the first thing about taking care of a baby.

"I'm screwed... If I still had Sophia, then I might have been able to summon her and have her take care of me, but….. Looks like she wasn't sent here with me. The system did say that it has a free monster gift…. Let's check it out. Use Welcome gift?"

Name: Performapal Odd-Eyes Valet

Level: 1

Type: Spellcaster / Pendulum / Effect

ATK: 100 / DEF: 200

Description:

A talented Dragonoid Valet, equally skilled in theatrics. His devotion and magical abilities make him the ideal right-hand man. A seal placed on him severely restricts his power, but a dragon is still a dragon; his glare alone is enough to put pressure on enemies. His seal can temporarily be loosened through the sacrifice of fellow Odd-eyes monsters. The unsealed power will vary depending on the strength of the sacrificed monster.

Haruki got more and more excited as he read the description of the monster he was apparently now able to summon.

He was tempted to summon him right away but decided against it. Who knew what the reaction of the two giants would be if suddenly a monster appeared in front of them. He decided to wait till nighttime when the giants were asleep.

As Dorry put more meat around the fire, Brogy walked over to Haruki with a slab of cooked meat.

He ripped off a little chunk and sat down beside Haruki, ready to feed him, but he froze.

"Hey, Dorry, it looks like the little one doesn't have his teeth yet."

"Oh, then you might have to do what the birds do. Chew it up for him and then feed it to him."

Brogy looked at the meat in his hand and then at Haruki, scratching his head.

"I can't believe I didn't think about that."

He quickly chewed some of the meat, but before he was able to feed it to Haruki, a blinding golden light appeared beside the baby.

From the circle of blinding golden light, a young human with purplish-silver hair, pointed ears, and dressed in a fancy suit appeared, spinning and then giving a slight bow. When he opened his eyes, he revealed one red and one green eye.

Both Brogy and Dorry stood frozen and silent, still somewhat shocked by the human's sudden appearance.

Meanwhile, the newly arrived human looked at the crying baby, which he recognized as his master, and the giant's index finger, which had a chewed piece of meat at the end of it. His eyes grew twice the size as he pointed at the giant's hand in utter horror.

"How dare you try to feed that revolting thing to my master?!"
