Chapter 12 The name Aurelian
At those words, a cold glint flashed across Suzaku's beautiful face. This woman had insulted Aurelian one too many times; she deserved to die!
However, at that moment, Chasel Mills reached out and gently patted Suzaku's shoulder, calming her emotions.Despite being a retired veteran who had seen countless battles, Chasel held a deep respect for Suzaku. He didn't take his granddaughter's harsh words to heart.
Only the old man felt a sudden chill in the air when Suzaku got angry, sensing a menacing aura. It was fleeting, leaving him uncertain if he had imagined it.
Nonetheless, he still stepped in to stop his granddaughter.
Chasel Mills was right in what he said. The combat techniques, known as "War Fist," were derived from the experiences of countless ancestors on the battlefield, evolving through their skills and tactics.It was indeed a method focused solely on fierce and aggressive combat. However, practicing it too intensely could lead to significant harm to oneself.
This was also why he had only taught Tyra among so many descendants. Besides his affection for her, Tyra, being a woman, possessed a natural softness. Practicing this combat style would allow her to blend strength with femininity, unlike him, who had become too rigid and strong, risking injury.
"You there, are you a soldier?" the old man asked, realizing that Chasel Mills could not possibly understand these matters otherwise."From the Northern Territory!" Chasel Mills nodded.
However, strictly speaking, he was no longer a man of the North. A month ago, he had retired from his position as the commander of the Northern Territory and taken on the important role of "Aurelian."
But once a soldier of the North, always a soldier of the North; it was ingrained in his very being.
"The North?" The old man's eyes widened slightly in surprise. "A legendary figure has emerged from the North! What a pity that I never had thechance to meet him; it's truly a regret in my life."
"So, you are under Aurelian?"
Upon realizing that Chasel Mills was associated with Aurelian Mills of the North, the old man immediately changed his tone, referring to Chasel as "young friend." His gaze shifted from that of looking at a spoiled brat to one filled with admiration.
A soldier of the North deserved respect from anyone.
Chasel Mills squinted slightly, a smile playing on his lips. He was somewhat surprised that the old man knew the name Aurelian, but it seemed he was unaware that Chasel had already retired from the North!
Chasel neither confirmed nor denied it.
Suzaku's beautiful eyes sparkled with laughter.
You probably don't realize that Aurelian Mills himself is standing right in front of you!
"Old man, if you still wish to practice the Battle Fist, I can teach you the improved version in a few days when I have some free time. It will be beneficial for yourbody, with no downsides at all."
Chasel Mills spoke up. A seasoned veteran like him was a rare find, and he didn't want to risk overloading his body by continuing to practice outdated combat techniques.
"Are you serious about this? Is it allowed?" The old man's eyes sparkled with excitement.
Teaching combat techniques to outsiders was a serious taboo. Otherwise, with his influence, how could he not have access to the currently circulated combat styles?"Yes, it's true, and it's allowed!" Chasel nodded.
For an ordinary person, passing on such knowledge might require a formal application and approval. But he was Aurelian Mills! Even though he was retired and no longer in his position, what did that matter to him? It was just a trivial matter!
"Then I must thank you, young friend!" The old man laughed heartily, clearly in high spirits. "I'm Leonard Fields, and this is my granddaughter, Tyra. May I ask how to address you two?"
"Chasel Mills!""Suzaku!"
Both Chasel and Suzaku replied in unison.
"Truly, heroes emerge from the youth! Seeing you both makes me feel my age!" Leonard chuckled.
"Leonard, you're as strong as ever!" Chasel replied with a smile. "I have something to do this weekend. How about we meet here next Monday morning to learn the combat techniques? What do you think, Leonard?"
"As long as you have time, young friend, I'm always at your service," LeonardFields said, standing tall and saluting Chasel Mills.
Chasel Mills and Suzaku immediately returned the gesture before heading back into the villa to prepare breakfast.

After chasel Mills left tyra frowned and asked, "Grandpa, why did you stop me just now?"
"That guy looks like he's been indulging too much in wine and women. I doubt I could even take him on..."
Seeing Tyra's discontent, Leonard's expression turned serious. "Tyra, watch your words!"
"But it's true! I don't believe he's from the North. Did you see how they both stifled their laughter when you mentioned Aurelian? They were clearly trying to mess with you!" Tyra replied indignantly.
Leonard Fields, however, felt a twinge ofdoubt about Chasel Mills and Suzaku's reactionIf they were truly from the North, they should have shown immense respect upon hearing Aurelian's name.
Nonetheless, this didn't change his assessment of their identities. "Tyra, do you know that when you spoke disrespectfully to Chasel, that Suzaku woman actually harbored murderous intent? That kind of killing aura isn't something just anyone can cultivate. I only felt something similar in my youth from a seasoned warrior."
Leonard Fields said in a low voice, "That Suzaku woman's identity is not simple at all!""But that Chasel Mills..." Tyra still wasn't convinced.
Leonard sighed, "Tyra, usually you're sharp and clever. Why are you so confused today?"
"From those reactions just now, can't you see that Chasel's status is at least equal to Suzaku's, if not higher? When judging a person, you mustn't let your initial impressions cloud your judgment!"
Tyra thought for a moment and realized he was right. She had been swayed by her preconceived notion of Chasel Mills as a spoiled rich kid.However, even knowing that Chasel was not an ordinary person and certainly not a playboy, Tyra's impression of him didn't improve. In her eyes, a soldier should be strong and resolute, not someone like Chasel who seemed so superficial.
As if he could read her thoughts, Leonard spoke again, "Chasel has been injured and is still recovering."
Tyra's beautiful eyes widened in realization, "No wonder!"
After a moment of thought, Leonard continued, "Tyra, since you've heard the name Aurelian, do you know who I'mtalking about?"
"I don't know!" Tyra shook her head. If Leonard hadn't mentioned it, she wouldn't have even known that name.
"The Commander of the Northern Region!"
"A crucial figure for the country!"
"Invincible War God!"
"Contemporary Legend!"
Leonard Fields spat out four words in quick succession.
At his words, Tyra's pupils dilated.Not to mention anything else, just the title "Commander of the North" sent a shiver down her spine.
She knew all too well what those four words represented!
"Grandpa, why have I never heard of the name Aurelian?" Tyra asked, puzzled. How could she be completely unaware of such a figure?
Leonard Fields let out a bitter laugh. "Aurelian is not just a name; it's a symbol of status. As for whether that legendary figure is actually named Aurelian, I can't say for sure.""However, there's a rumor that Aurelian is quite young!"
"But all his information is classified. I wouldn't know anything about him if I hadn't heard a few whispers from some old friends."
At his words, a bold thought suddenly popped into Tyra's mind. She looked at Leonard Fields and said, "Grandpa, you mentioned Aurelian is supposed to be young. Could it be that..."
Leonard Fields paused, understanding what Tyra meant.
He couldn't help but glance up at the villa where Chasel Mills was staying.
Then he shook his head and chuckled, "If Aurelian were really coming to Verdant City, he wouldn't do it so quietly."
"But the reason I'm telling you all this is to let you know that Chasel, being from the North, likely has a significant background. He might just be someone who can connect with Aurelian. Otherwise, he wouldn't have the authority to teach me martial arts!"
"Therefore, you must be on good terms with Chasel. You absolutely cannot act unreasonable or offend him again, do you understand?"
